My PC blew up a few weeks ago thanks to a bolt of lightning, the insurance company gave me a brand new PC which has XP.
I cannot get rollis flasher to work and a while ago I remember reading about an extra program or file that is needed.

I tried to search for it but unfortunatly it doesn't let you search for XP as it is under 4 letters long!

many thanks for any help with the matter,

cheers,
Danny!

Rolis was written for XP, so it does not need userport! Use the latest version and you should have no problems!!!;)

I don't have XP, but does your post apply to Rolis 4.78b6 or 4.79?

@ bobl

Don't you have one? Try uCables, got my MBUS cable there.
Don't try there FMBUSses, FBUS doesn't seem to work...

I have a F/Mbus cable which unlocks dct3 phones fine :)

I just don't have a flash cable nor have the money to pay for it :D
I thought he was talking about flash cables ;)

@boeboe

I don't use Xp myself as I find no reason to update! 98SE is perfect for everything I need it for, and I know how to repair any problems that might arise! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!! As for Rolis, I haven't tried different versions but I do pay attention to this forum and it's threads! Try both, but I would assume 4.79 would be best!;)

Do you think, Chunkhead?

With Rolis 4.79, I have killed a phone....

And I've also noticed that you can't power on your phone if Rolis is running and the phone is connected with the phone.

With the 4.78b6 version, I've never had a problems with it. I can even flash a 5210 with it!

The MBUS functions don't work also...

@boeboe:

I have both, but I've yet to flash with v4.79! I still use v4.78b6, but I cannot flash 5210!? It'll flash but phone won't turn on! I have to use Knok95 in order for it to work!;)

There seems to have been a slight problem with the Nokia Flash Reverse Electronic Engineering database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser. An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Oh well, here's my original message:

I'm having the same probs as you mate, Knok is a bit slow but I'd like to try other progs ...

So I got 4.77 (Like you, 479 doesn't register userport) and it didn't seem to work.

Then I went and got 478b6 which you seemed to suggest worked(?) I have the same problem as 479...Hangs at Power on phone.

But I attached it anyway, maybe you can get it to work :) [Not attached]

Download the program from here:

(For anyone who hasn't read my other thread, this is how I read to install userport:

Copy to Windows\System32\Drivers\Userport.sys Userport.exe

Run Userport.exe
Start
Update
Exit

That should do it no?)

Its probably somthing to do with the way we set up userport!

Has anyone got it working and would like to share the way they did it?

I am now really dissapointed as I was supposed to be earning quite a bit of cash upgrading a few phones this weekend!

cheers for the responses!
Danny!

Solution:

I have searched the forum about 20 times and finally found the answer!

Radeon ATI drivers conflict with the rollis flasher simply disable the driver when you want to flash and everything works fine!

I am thankful for all the help with this and thanks for this forum once again!

cheers,
Danny :D
