Fonts with 3310

I've got a 3310 with 6.07 firmware version, and I've a problem with fonts.:(
I imported some fonts with PPMEdit and I saved them in a .pef file, but when I flash the phone I have always CONTACT SERVICE on the screen. I've tried with a lot of programs to fix the flash, but I still have the same problem.
Is there a working way to import fonts to the phone?:confused:

I have only changed fonts a couple of times and have used ppm edit to do this.

i can't get my favorite fonts working.
Tahoma, Serpentine, Aero looks like working in ppmedit 1.0i, but after flashing there will be only random pixels in screen.
crc calculating works ok, but no matter if i change or not x size or use just imported font or save and load to original flash, it doesn't work.
maybe i should adjust something manually, but i have no idea what.

I've finally flash my 3310 with a FLS that uses a Comic Sans MS style font...
I've understood that with PPMEdit you must not change the X size of the character, if you want to view it correctly on the screen...

Import this PEF file with PPMEdit in your flash file and try...

did you import to all 4 (or more) fonts or only 1?
i tried to import all 4 fonts in 3310, works in ppmedit but not when flashed.

and even if i assign some needed special characters, ppmedit doesn't import them and i wonder why.

thats a bug on ppmedit v1.0a. i dont know with higher versions though -importing fonts from your computer.

all you need to do is find a flash file with the font you want, export it and import it to your flash file. (*.pef format)

if you really want to import fonts directly form your computer, you have to do a bit of manipulating since the fonts are a bit distorted. try checking your flash file with chkfixer by joox. works all the time.

Now I've only one modified font in my 3310, but I've tried with all 4 fonts (with not-modified X size) and it works, without checking and fix errors in the FLS file...
In my opinion if you use a regular character, compatible with the pixels in the phone (so is important to leave X size original), yu should not have problems. :cool:

it works in some fonts but when i tried to import comic sans, it didnt look good. i was thankful then somebody posted a flash file that has comic sans font in it. i exported the font (*.pef) using ppmedit then imported it to my flash file. now i have the fonts on my phone!

How can I use the fonts from windows as the windows fonts is not a pef file?

use ppmedit v1.0a, theres an import button in the fonts tab. maybe your using the unregistered version so the fonts tab is disabled.

FYI: PPMEdit 1.0i still has bug when importing font. i mean IMPORTING not load/save from other flash.

actually it imports ok, but when flashed to phone there will be random pixels as fonts. like ppmedit just forget to change some tables or something.
i could post some fonts if somebody can fix them to work when flashed to phone.

yeah its a ppmedit bug!

when i try to import fonts from windows true type font (TTF), its a bit distorted and have to manually fix it. but it works well with some fonts.

@litefun the font you imported might not be compatible with the phone. i enoutered the same thing a few times. when i flash it to my phone, it works well (signal, battery stat, logo) however i cant see any font at all (menu, unlock, select...)
