Nokia 7210 IMEI Sticker

Hi there,

Does anyone know if removing the metalic IMEI sticker inside a nokia 7210 would render it useless please ? Someone I know recently sold a barred phone into the USA, and the recipient removed the IMEI sticker and could not get any network coverage.

the sticker wont make any difference, it is no way connected to any circuit in the phone and will deffinatly NOT have caused the phone not to work im sure.
