Hi guys, just joined forum and am a complete newbie. Ihave a problem with my 7210 which was fine for a couple of weeks (bought in good faith) then one day when i switched it on it was saying 'phone restricted' the next page was asking for 'restriction code' can anyone help me to get this phone working again plz. take it easy on me guys, complete newbie remember !

you need to unlock the phone, post your:
IMEI - find it by typing *#06# on the phone. if you can't - take out the simcard.
Network Code - the network code of the provider that locked the phone, find it here (http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/index.shtml)

are under the battery, when i take out the sim card all i get is the battery level indicator.
the network is orange u.k. code i think is 23433

take out the sim and use the codes with all the pw+#, or insert a simcard, and when asked for restriction code enter the code without the pw+#..
try the first one, if it works - enter the second one and you're done.
if the first doesn't work enter the 5th.

tried first one, did not work, tried 5th one did not work, both came up code error. do i have to put the +1 or +5 after the code, if so how do you get +, do i have to use original sim card or will any sim do. can only get screen with card in. thanks in advance.

take out the simcard, and input the code with all characters, including # + and pw. (when the "Insert SIM card" message is on the display)
to get + press * key 2 times.
p - 3 times.
w - 4 times.
now you have used 2 of your 5 tries, so now try only another one.

probably your EEPROM area is damaged, contact nokia service
