Hi,
Now that directory enquiries in the UK is being replaced by 118 118 and such, I wanted to edit the 192 number from my phone book but when I try to it displays "Try another location".

I was wondering how I would be able to edit the 192 number with 118 118?

No answers??

Surely someone knows how to solve this?
I've searched the forum and it seems nobody has encountered this problem before.

I would be great if someone could post the solution here.
Please.

Hey,

I am not sure if you mean new prefixes for mobile numbers, but as my number changed, I had to delete all SMS and numbers on the sim card in order to edit mine :(

Try it :)

Hi :)

Nope I dont mean prefixes.
I mean the phone book entry that looks like this:
>Directories
>Callback Off
>Callback On
>etc etc

They all show > before them and they cant be edited or deleted.
I'm sure there will be a way of editing them somehow? Or is it on my O2 sim and it cant be edited? I dont know

hopefully someone will know...

ask your SP for a sim update, tell them its due to the 192 problem, they may be able to sort it that way.

@ wwanthony
I assume you are on o2-UK and mean the "Talking Pages" Entry in the Sim Services menu, If you do contact the network and they send you a sim update that works, can you let me know because i would like to sort this out too.

Cheers

Hi,
Just called O2 and got some cocky twat on the phone saying "Nothing We Can Do!"

Suppose because I was being a little persuasive trying to get a new sim ;)

He also said that sims even in production now have the 192 number on them and only until 192 is completely finished (couple of months) will they remove directory enquiries completely.

I would have thought that 1 of the directory enquiries companies would sponsor them to use their numbers on their sims but the cocky telephone operator at O2 was positive it would be scrapped.

Best thing you could do is change your speed dial to 118 500 or 118 118 or whatever any try to forget about the dead number on your phone :(
