I upgraded my 7210 to firmware v.4.74 yesterday.
The people upgrading it do not make any backup of phone numbers and stuff like that, so I took a full backup with OPM before handing it to the people at my nearest Nokia Care Centre.
When I got my phone back I tried to reinstall everything with OPM, but during the process the phone just went dead.
Went back to the NCC and they once again flashed it, this time I used PC Suite to put my data back to the phone (unfortunately not a completly fresh backup) and that worked.

Was I just unlucky or could OPM do this?
Bug in v2.1.5 or is the crack not good?

Hope anyone knows, meanwhile I'll stick to MobiMB and PC Suite..

One previously cracked version of OPM2 ( I cannot remember now, but sure before 2.0.9.8 ) can kill the phones ( by a non-well-developed crack )...

but...

if you have used the crack provided by merten2003, can be discarded a crack-problem, because it isn't really a patched exe ( like others before ), it seems to be the original Oxygen exe file from the retail OPM2 CD...

And would be very difficult that Oxygen Software have a mistake like this... Unlucky so...

Thaks to Merten2003 for this real good file!

Thanks for your answer!
But I guess I´m still not going to use OPM..

I recently had exactly the same problem.
After upgrading my 6610 from 4.28 to 4.74 I restored most of my details with opm 2.0.9.8 but later found my archived msg's to split into parts. So I tried using a patched opm 2.1.5 to restore them, not having deleted the old msg's. Half way through the process the IR link dropped out and I found my phone wouldn't turn on anymore. Back to the NCC :(

I found the dud cracked version here
http://www.almlak.com/mobile4arab/Program/opm/Opm2.1.5.zip
It uses a patch file called "ƒÚÞ®ƒÞOxygen phone manager II v.exe"

I would like to know if it was the patch or OPM that did this.
Mwiberg, is this the same patch you used? If so I might try Merten2003's replacement opm.exe file?

I found mine here:
ftp://gsm-soft:[email protected]/soft/nokia/oxy/

Don't know if it's the same, but the course of events is exactly the same!
The IR link just died, and the phone was dead..

Well now, I told that the exe file provided 'seems to be' the original from the retail OPM2 CD, but after this incidents, there are no dude that we have get again a non-well-patched file (like in older versions)...

I strongly recommend not using this crack, because of the risk of killing the phone...

Cracked OPM 2.0.9.8 have no problems... Its the best now.
