Hi,

I am new to all this and just bought a Mbus/Fbus cable to unlock my Nokia 3390 running sw version 7.13

There seems to be so much software choices and options that I don't know what to use! Some people suggest Nokia Tool by Rollis and others say EEprom.

I don't mind so long as it works...given the sw version on the phone, what version of tool should I use to unlock it with either the ones I mentioned or something else?

Lastly, how dangerous is it? I have entered the *#pw+1234567890+Y# on each of the four variables once to check lock status. Only the field 1, SP lock is enabled. I only have two more attempts to get it, is this correct?

Thanks a lot for any help and advice you can offer.

This is a great source of information!

Regards,
LC

Nokia Tool 1.8 by rollis was the trick.

It was necessary to change the cableconfig detection icon from auto to manual so it could see the signal on the rts/cts leads using an M/F autoswitching cable.

Worked fine after this and the phone was unlocked on all locks in less than 2 seconds.

Hope this helps others....
