What loads the bootstrap code into the phone when flashing?
There must be some part of the phone that never gets flashed, a real Boot ROM, somewhere, although I have dumped the entire memory range of the MAD2 and haven't been able to find it. I also can't find it on the schematics, so it must be internal to the MAD chip.
Address 0x00000 to 0x10000 is mapped to the first 64kb of RAM. It can't boot from there.
It could be there is some logic that hides the Boot ROM just after it gives control to either the Flash ROM or the flasher bootstrap loader. But that's just a guess...
