The moderators (some) attitude towards the simple user.

Mr. Nokdoc, u should not let your "friendship" do the reasoning for u. I dont care if Alinus is a "good personal friend" of yours. That shouldnt matter.
Anyway, please delete my account now. U wil not hear from me again.(like somebody cares)

the only reason this forum sucks is its becomming so commercialize unlike the first moment i joined this forum its so underground were ideas and softwares comes for free enlightening everyone how to do things but now almost everything is for sale funny dct3 is becomming obsolete but there are lots of developer who says buy my program for a dollar or something.

thats why we can't step forward to the next level of the stairs coz we are so afraid to leave what we have to leave and carry on. some people doesn't even want until now to share and thinking he has the power well the power is obsolete.

to understand the future, you must understand the past..

now, the field is large and still unexplored to most, even though the phones are "outdated".
we cannot move to new pasture "dct4", cos its crypted flash..
but technology underneath is not so different..

I shouldn't be bumping this topic to the top of the page as I consider it pointless rant.

BUT I must say that I think there's absolutely no point in complaining about the moderators or the 'state of the forum', and though there are very honourable exceptions (please don't throw stones at me for what I'm going to say, but I need to say it!) most of the people who complain that the forum's become 'cr**p' or whatever never made any significant contributions to reverse engineering in the first place.

I know I didn't. I'm an Economist with only marginal knowledge of programming.

I must also say those are the very same people who rudely tell newbies to use search etc.

If you must direct someone to the search tool because you remember there has been a thread on the same subject before, do it in a nice way and explaining your reasons.

I've seen all sorts of rant here, many people seem to resent the fact that the forum's grown. There are people who even resent the fact that sometimes we direct users to other threads by posting links!

Of course many people have joined the forum just in order to get a DCT4 unlocked (can't really blame them), but the true hardcore remais. And though we have come a long way in reverse engineering and modding Nokias, there are still fundamental questions, even in DCT3, that still need our efforts. And in fact many who are not complaining about the 'state of the forum', are actually busy trying to address these questions.

TDMA flashing/modding, for example, is still impossible because no-one knows how to calc FAID in these phones.

DCT4 is another problem are but we have seen a major breakthrough with the dongle-less calculators.

These are just examples.

Let's not get out of line here, or take things personally when a mod gives you a warning. And let's try and make constructive criticism or real improvement propositions instead of creating complaint or "state of the forum" posts.

Nanda's post could not be more right! The people who whinge and complain about the forum, rarely make any decent contribution to the forum in order for it to rectify problems! I know the original point to this story, as I was involved! Why did the Starr post here having a whinge, if he was leaving? Attention??? The moderators have to patrol "our" forum and keep everybody in line! At the time of this post, there are 35,477 members! Does any body know how to control that amount of people? NokDoc and Alinus are really the only two who do this well! (No offence to other mods, but credit given where credit due)!
Starr was asked politely to move on, but couldn't! None the less, i'm sure he will return either as himself, or another username when his phone has a problem!!!

Good decision to leave his account open! I'm sure that you and\or Alinus really lost sleep over this!:p But "if" that person returns, maybe they could be a productive member for a change???:(

Although i said i'll never post here i feel it is necesary to set some thinks straight.

And what great contribution to the forum did u bring?(im sure ill regret asking this later)I didnt , of course.Thats because i have a job .Dont u think the forum is here to help people like me? People who read the threads hoping to "achieve" something more from our dct3-s?I wasnt the most "productive" member, thats true but i think i wasnt the least "productive" member neither. What are the other people (unproductive people) like me suppose to do?Lets make a new rule and ask those who arent helping to leave.
The forum is here to help "silly" people like me.This is its main purpose.

I had closed that thread cause i believe it was nonsense and i still do. The argument that i was right was given by the author of the software u claimed so much...the attitude problem is yours...that person spends his time to produce free software for all of us and u lack the respect for his work. U can demand something u have bought rights to demand...U cannot demand someone to freely work for you benefit and to give him terms ! ...also if you shall dig harder on this forum you'll find that there is another, older, thread with the same topic. so you can always post there. as one of our members said that was a poll wich only one person could respond...so it wasn't a poll at all. I hope you are satisfied with this explanation.
