How to free up memory on c:

Do you have a 9210?
Do you find that you are running low on space?
Here is a tip to free up space on c:

Load up filemanager
Press Menu key and select Settings... command from Tools menu. You will see the option: "Show system directory"
Change this option to yes.
In the main window of filemanager select system and open it
Find the folder that says Help
Select the folder
Press CTRL+P
This will display the properties of this folder
Note how big the folder size is
Press esc
With the folder highlighted, select move from the right hand side and move it to d:\system
D: is your memory card
This will copy ALL the help files that are stored on c: to d: thus freeing up valuable space on the c:

The help files will still work, but now they will be on your mmc

Be careful with the system folder. Do not start moving/deleting files straight away. The commy NEEDS these files. Be VERY careful otherwise you will mess up your commy!

EDIT:
This also applies to the 9210i but not as much, reason being the 9210i has more space on c:

LOl ;-) what you need are sms centre numbers. If you type that into google you will get some numbers that you can use as gateways to send sms.

Persoanlly I havent tried using these sms centre numbers, but give it a try and see what happens.

To get more space on drive C:, you can install n run Stacker program. On its ads, it will almost double the space (get more 25%-45% space actually).

The problem is how to get more RAM (random access memory) so you do not need to reboot your device every time you run another installed program that needs more RAM. Pressing Shift + Ctrl + I sometimes does not help.
Any idea?

Try running AppMan, it has a useful option of compact (defragging RAM) After u've closed an application chances are there are still some files resident in memory. AppMan removes those files and frees up memory. It can also close applications that you dont need or want. It also lets you reboot with removing the battery.

The problem with stacker is that it has to be loaded in memory all the time. So in order to gain more space on c: you have to sacrifice RAM.

But stacker can get you alot more space on c:

I know, code vault does take up alot of space. Try this program

FreeCrypt will work with any type of file - for example, you can encrypt Word, Sheet or Data files.

Best of all this program is freeware!

sorry, my bad, i forgot to add the programme needs opl runtimes.

The program is much smaller than codevault and it lets u encrypt sensitive files that you may have. Say you have an excel spreadsheet and it contains your expenses for example, you can encrypt just this file so when it is opened it always asks for a password.

Neat program :-)
