Don't know about BT but can happen if you are using IR. The IR have a limited connecting time. You have to open PC Suite and turn the MRouter on with your fone, so that the connection turns stable till turned off. Now you can perform instalations, changes or save data with unlimited time.
Remember IR drains lots of battery when in constant use!

Works fine with the WIDCOMM drivers v 1.3.2.7 that comes with my MSI Bluetooth Dongle.
Just selectet in the mrouter Propertis Bluetooth a COM port for your Device (In my case itīs COM4)
Then Create a Bleutooth Serial Port connection with your remote Bluetooth device (3650, 7650..)
Just right klick on the Bluetoozh system Tray Icon and select Quick conection.
if all is O.K. mrouter shows you that bluetooth com... is connectect.
Now start DesktopMessage and it should work :)

Hi, DeskMsg seems to be the product for which I waited - but it does not work with my phone/laptop. Whenever I connect, it says "downloading contacts" and after some seconds it says "disconnected" - this happens regardless whether I connect via IR or BT. mRoute is on and shows connected, PC Suite runs and works over this connection also. Anything I can do? Thanks Georg

It will be a good utility, when it'll work.
I managed to send an sms, but the contacts weren't downloaded, neither the messages.
Then the phone freezed in such ways, that I had to remove the battery.

From All About Symbian.com
unfortunately, there was a "minor" bug in 1.00 ( ) which should be fixed now. DesktopMessage was not working with phones having a large number of contacts. We've submitted a bug-fix release (1.01) which you can download from here (http://mobileways.de/han/DesktopMessageS60-1.01.310703-eval.zip) . It should solve the problems with DesktopMessage hanging at startup ...
Cheers
