View Full Version : Does original IMEI need to be set correctly (and how?)
I just flashed a moded Fubu, set the IMEI to my sticker with EEPROM tools. Read it in, and saw my IMEI is set correctly, but Original IMEI still reads 9090...
Does that matter? Can I leave it and use my phone without something getting barred :D?
I tried searching but couldn't find anything :(, maybe someone can point me in the direction the thread.
Cheers

you can use your phone as usual.
the networks read the imei of the phone, not the "original.
the imei is sotred in the eeprom, and sent to the network whn you log on. the "original" imei is stored in the flash (and encrypted, if it matters).
its fine to leave as that, or you can use Rolis software (rolis tools) to set both original and security IMEI's.

hi, both imei's are stored in the eeprom area. original imei is in plain HEX, security imei is xored by 65 :)
or you can use Rolis software (rolis tools) to set both original and security IMEI's.
Do you mean NokTool by Rolis?
I've got version 1.9 and I can't see the option to do so...
I downloaded version 1.8, it has the option to...I'll change it later :)
Does this really change both IMEIs? Wow :)
Cheers guys

Update:
Update IMEI with NokTools 1.8
This auto updates the FAID, and screws it up :D
Update the FAID with NokTools 1.9
It works fine ;)
(And it rhymes :D)
Well, I have a just about working 3410 5.30 with security code message box, line feed, blinking characters and fade out lights.
I'm happy :D
The worst part about this (moddified?) flash, is that when you turn off the phone, there is a graphical glitch, but nvm. (The Network bar goes completely blank and overwrites what's on the screen with an ugly rectangle.)
Oh well, cheers all...at least I've got my hands deep in flashing...
