Querie on dct4 calc

hiya when i calculate the codes for dct4 it doesnt always work? do i need to calculate version 1 or version 2 codes? and whats the difference?
some phones it does fine, others it doesnt
iam using dct-4 calculater made by CYBERDOG and Hollowman

Use v2 with newer phone models, all the older ones calculate with out it.
