External power...

Can anybody tell me when must connect externel power for flasher cable?(and where to connect)Can i damage the components of the circuit?
My cable is constructed by following the attached picture.

You dont need external power..just plug it to LPT port and it will be fine.../make You LPT port to ECP in the BIOS/..

sometimes the parallel port may not supply enough voltage, depends on your computer..

you need to put 5V at the 4K7, use 7805 voltage regulator supplied from 9-15V. i think you can remove the two diodes from pins 3&5 then..

Thanx for help!I made a mistake!!i accidentaly put 12V to ICs pin 14!Its a big mistake?the diodes will be not missing?

Where can i connect external power when I build FULL DEJAN CABLE or LIGHT DEJAN CABLE?schematics are on www.id2.cz
