Is there any java program which can make use of the irda at e.g. a 6310i to use it as a remote control for tv ?

Quite possibly there is an app that will do this (I don't know of any, but I really haven't got a clue what is out there ;)) but is the hardware up to it?

I had a Palm Vx that had a similar program to the one you're looking for. It worked fine, but only as long as you were with a couple of inches of the TV! (about 5cm)

The program was perfect in every way - it had every feature I could possilby want, but the hardware was just not up to job.

It could be that the nokia suffers from the same problem, so no-one has developed their software any further, or maybe someone will post the url to download the app you want - knowing my sense of timing, it will be the very next post :D

No there is not a java application which does that. Because Java interface do not provide API for infra communication.
