3310 to 3330

hey.... ive tried replacing the flash rom of 3310 with a flashrom of the 3330. flashed it with a software for 3330. the operation is succesful till 100%. the problem is that the phone wont start. i read the flashrom again, the flash file is written. i used the 3310 board which is upgradable to 3350.




-----just want to know what else should i replace to make this operational.

it's not gonna work ...
3310 has only 16 MB RAM , a 3330 has 32 Megs.
so you have half of a 3330 flash on a 3310 which has no chance to work with that data ..

only thing you can transform a 3310 to is a 3315, simply by pressing the 3315 button in Rolis Noktool 1.9

what is the length of the flash you read from the phone after you flashed the 3330 software? has to be 4MB.

yes the written flash is 4MB.

is there any more parts to be replaced here?
need the expertice of others here......

How many components you changed? 1)Flash IC and 2) Ram. You have to changed both in order to work. If change either one will not work. These 2 IC located on the right side of CPU when positioned upright (Im sure you guys knows that) :D See if it helps.

i only change the flash ic i didnt change the ram.....

so i have to change 2 components to make it work?

do i have to use the 3330 ram also?


another thing... i flash the phone using the rolis flasher, am i doing it right?

how is flashing the eeprom done?

i think in rolis it only do the mcu+ppm thing right?

what will i use in flashing the eeprom?

Yes you have to change the 3310 ram to a 3330 ram. If possible get another 3330 set and read full flash with rolis then flash the full flash to your phone. After that change imei and update faid. I tried this many times and it works 100%. So hope it helps you.

change also the ram. you should get the working ram and it is beter to get from 3330 boards so that the ram is working

well, if you have better pcb with extra keys.. why not change lcd to 3410's? i'd do that if i had replaced 3310 ram & flash to 3330's :)
(and flash to 3350)

Yep. 3350 is definitely better than a 3330. You get many exra features too.

Out of interest, how expensive was this 3310 --> 3330 conversion?

Was it really cost effective or more of a general interest thing? :)
