the unlock code removes the sim card lock from your phone. When you buy a phone, it is usually locked to a particular network, unless you buy it sim free(ie. from nokia).
When you enter the unlock code, it removes this, so your phone can take ANY sim card in the world.

And music^2k, what codes did you try. The ones listed on this page? Cos they won't work for your phone. Every phones has a different unlock code based on your unique IMEI number. Press *06# to find your IMEI no.

yes, if your phone is already sim free, then it will not accept the code anyway. Try another sim card from a different network in it and see waht happens.

I'm sorry I don't have your codes :( , but T-Mobile is not listed as a network. was it formally known as something else?

In regards to serial connection, the only way to do it is to make a cable yourself and insert it into your phone. However this voids your warranty.

T-Mobile used to be Voicestream. However T-Mobile has a very relaxed system when it comes to unlocking. Once you have kept the phone for 2-weeks (beyond the return date) you can go back to the kiosk that you bought it from and they normally will be happy to unlock your phone. They did this with my Samsung V205 prior to me purchasing my Nokisa 3650 sim-free.

What country are you in? O2 is a network in England AND Ireland and maybe some other countries. Anyway, there's different codes for each country.

johnnyspliff, what was the point of posting all those codes? When all he needs is the one I posted (which you also posted), you will confuse people and they might have to use a cable solution...!

I don't see the reason you posted them, when I gave the code for him to try, if mine was wrong and you were posting the correct one, fair enough - but that is not the case!

Also why did you post exactly what I said!? About Alochner having a missing digit from his IMEI code? (I think it will be a 0) and for your information '02' was 'BTCellnet' before the change (and some other providers, who merged), if you don't know small things like this, you should have left his request - guessing is bad!

The only helpful thing you did in your post, was to post some instructions... even those were already posted further up in this thread...

It is odd the code did not work... perhaps try lock one instead:

Maybe wait for someone else to confirm code(s) I have posted if they are correct or not...

You won't mess up the phone if you exceed the five trys, just have to use a cable to unlock - but I understand your wish not to do this :)

If it is so, I must highlight my IMEI is indeed beginning with 35110 and that I am indeed with ATT wireless - in San Francisco.

I heard after 5 try my phone would lock and I tried already 3 times.

This is why I hesitate to go too unsure on this.

u gave him the standard code for the mcc mnc code of the sandard at&t network 3650 when its not
his imei number had a 500 in the number which is a different code
thats why he was given the wrong codes by u
thats why he didnt unlock his phone
if u look in the thread i posted the correct code in the last post which is 100% correct and totally different than your wrong code which you gave through lack of experience
this is why u dont post in the unlocking section
