HELP: 8250 - Phone RAM is bad

i tryed to flash an 8250 phone but it wouldn't let me, i used nokiaflasher 4.78 - it showed an error "phone RAM is bad" what does that mean? how can i fix?

Check your phone connections, scratch them, so you'll get a better contact woth it.

Or:

* Bios settings
* Winxp userport
* Delay index
* Set rolis to win 98 compatible mode
* Bad connections
* Laptop?
* Bad flasher cable

i can flash correctly to an 8210 but first time flashing an 8250 and it shows errors
i think the 8250 might be from asia and the 8210's i flash are from europe?
will that make a difference?

You should be able to flash those phones.
It didn't work to scrath the connecttions and set the dleay to 5?

phone ram is bad, means the phones ram..is bad (usually ;))
try reflow flash IC

Do as boeboe said, Increase the delay index! Start with 3 then 4 then 5! Keep at it! I have gotten this message a few times! Patience is the key!;)

Yes, I usually get this message with old, or fallen phones.

went to 3 then 4 then 5
on the 5 delay index it shows:

"send flash loader"...6179 bytes

have been there for 10 minutes

i also got this error:#

Flash erase Error
must receive 91 00 ff, but received :FF FF FF
check vpp, Vbat voltage, phone type...

just changed the battery and showing same fault error!

should i try another program to flash the phone?
which one?

Use Rolis v4.78b6, use the charger to "Power on phone"! Use 5 as the delay index! Keep trying, you'll get it!;)

if u cant flash it by rollis try to download darkflasher by lemming...i used it i works fine wid my 8250.rolis kiled my fone once

how do you flash a full flash to the phone? only have backup and unlocking?

No, downlmoad knok1a, it does the work with those phones.

Stay away from Darkflasher and all that crap! They really stuff you up! Rolis does NOT kill phones! People kill phones! You cannot kill your phone by flashing as it can always be reflashed!

would this error occur if the phone screws are lose?
i have noticed it is missing one of the screws (bottom, right)
anway i will be gettinga T6 screwdriver tomrrow i'll tighten it up and see...

Had that on some phone too.

Try to flash with covers off if you still have this problem.

ok update: i can flash the phone now (only with knok 1 though)
rolis crashes on me.

i have flashed a clean 8250 flash file onto the phone i have changed IMEI unsing - nokia tools 3.03

updated faid, SP and SFR using noktools by rolis 1.9

when i turn the phone on it shows full battery - but no menu signal options and no signal, after about 30 seconds it crashes.

i think this might be an hardware fault, but i don't know much about the 8250 hardware
could someone suggest the problem and how to fix it?

no it doesn't shut down i have to take the battery out. and the contrast on the phone seems fine to me

Try to flash EEPROM... Are U sure it's ROM6 or ROM5 phone U have?

yeah just checked it - its rom 6 and definitly originally an 8250 (from the sticker on the back)

this is my first 8250 but it says NSM-3DX is that correct? i thought it was NSM-3D

Also it says "made by nokia" not made in japan or finland etc??

OK, maybe you sould flash new EEPROM too.
Or a working FUBU, that would you'll see if it's HW problem.

No, FUBU is Full Backup.

A full backup (a flash file) contains the MCU, PPM,EEPROM.

So, you won't have to try different mcu's ppm's and eep's.

These are 100% working on other phones.

You can get them here: www.nokia-flash.tk, but this site seems to be off-line...

but it still doens't work

i have successfully flashed he phone with rolis! the phone works but when i do SFR , SP and FAID the phone doesn't turn on, i have used, nokia tools 3.1, 1.9 and rolis 4.79!

whats the best software to update faid?
