Not got an 8855 to test, but if the flash files are the same, why dont you just back up and test flashing?

If it dont work, just restore the 8210 flash?

Then you know then wont you

yeah you can, unfortunatly for some reason you loose the gsm 1800 signal i think (the one that is orange in the uk). And so the phone can only be used on the o2 network

does anyone know where to get instructions on how to do it? (in english).. with details of what parts may need to be changed, etc..

ok, for 8210,8250,8850 upgrade to 8855 you need to change your flash ic to 3204c3t, which 8855 flash ic. and your cpu must be rom6. you need to have some soldring skill to do this, coz' you will be to bridge 2 wire from cpu to the flash ic.

thanks NokiaPhreak..

is mjinglis correct? Do you lose the GSM1800 signal?
and is WAP fully functional after flashing?

@AgentJ,

All fully function for me.

@gorandj

you need to connect one wire from cpu to flash ic, and another wire is for short 2 leg on flash ic.

hi, i have finally located the ic "3204c3t", i got it from 3610 and for 20 US$, (1000 Indian Rupees). but i prob,,,

i have 8210 (which is to be mothed) rom6, now i want to do it withour removing the cpu, please tell me how to do it.

i read all the posts but not able to understand
they all say the same like

"NOTICE: If your cpu is V16, you needn't remove it: from CPU No.1 point. (It's one the cpu's left, the sinus point), Now winddershins
No.17 is G2, you can bridge it to A3."

or

"notice: if your cpu is v16, you needn't remove it: from CPU No.1 point
(it's one the cpu's left, the sinus point), now winddershins
No.17 is G2, you can bridge it to A3."

now what does it means, can anyone define this to me in simple english, illustration is preffered.

I dont think you have to remove the CPU.. you just have to replace the flash IC..
and no, no reason to replace the lcd

btw..where did you get the IC from?

i got the ic from a damaged 3610, so not sure that the ic is OK.

well but how to bridge G2 to A3 without removing the cpu. bridging is must,,..
