Hi ,
I am facing a big problem .
When I connect the flasher cable to my Printer port and run Rolis 4.77/4.78/4.79,
I get an error :
POWER off mobile first and then connect.
( OR check cable : Phone TX =low(0) expected but phone TX=high read)
This happens although my phone is not connected to the cable( it happens only on connecting the cable to the PC). I have also installed USER PORT as i m using windows 2000 and my printer port(LPT1) is in ECP mode.
Please help me out.

i dont mean 2 insult ur intelligence but u seem like a newbie so i am sorry if i do but is your phone off?
to flash you must turn the phone off then set the flasher and then power on. if the problem persists then take out battery and then put back in and then try

Never mind about my igonorance ! I am certainly a newbie !
But it seems you have not read my mail carefully. I have already mentioned that IT HAPPENS EVEN WHEN THE PHONE IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE CABLE.It happens just on connecting
the cable to the PC.MY LPT1 port is in ECP mode and the USER PORT is installed .
Can you now solve my problem ??

i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the LPT port also , it just does'nt seem to work.
try changing lpt port from ecp to spp.
i´m sure that problem is the lpt configuration.
i had same problem. i´m not sure how did i resolve it, but i did it just changing configuration

SPP won't work! This is the setting a lot of laptops work on! ECP or ECP+EPP are the two working ones!;)

I am trying to flash a 3310 but how does it matter , if i get the error on connecting the cable to the PC only, without even connecting the phone??

Don't panic. The error "Power off mobile first then connect" will definitely show when the phone/cable is not connected to the pc or connected but turned on.
I too am using win2k but having no problem running rolis flasher or any other flasher...
Did you already done some diagnostics?.....
Or is your cable not a dejan flasher cable but instead a flasher that uses Windls or Winddp ?

Hi Vinny,
Could you kindly explain me what the terms 'Windls' and 'Windp' mean ? Actually, the cable did not have any packet and it came from a vendor in simple polythene bags without any specs. So, considering that it's a simple flasher cable, could you tell me how should i use it to flash my phone successfully ?

I'll give you some info and for further details please use the search feature of this forum coz it has already been discussed and there are lot of posts and links/attachments that will further explain it.
Most DCT3 flasher cables that are out in the market usually uses Rolis' Nokia Flasher or Dejan Flasher or Geocadin Flasher etc... But some flasher cables don't use these softwares instead they use programs such as WinDDP, Windls, NK_Flash 1.04/1.05, etc... and these softs don't usually allow EEPROM writes :(
Surely your vendor could have possibly given some instructions.
What software did your flasher cable came with?
Hope this helps.

do you connect the cable with the pc on, if so try it with it off.
boot up pc, connect phone (switched off),then run rolis.
