hiya i currently am remotely unlocking phones in the uk at my work, i can unlock all phones no probs, when i try to unlock nokia 8310's regardless of the network, 8 times out of ten the phone wont unlock and just displays code error, the mcc and mnc codes i use are
23410=O2-UK;United Kingdom
23415=Vodafone;United Kingdom
23430=T-Mobile;United Kingdom
23433=Orange;United Kingdom
23450=Jersey Telecom GSM;United Kingdom
23455=Guernsey Telecoms GSM;United Kingdom
23458=Manx Telecom Pronto GSM;United Kingdom
which i have checked and seem correct, i only have this problem with 8310's and i am calculating version 2 codes, with dct4 calc by hollowman and cyberdog. anyone any ideas?
also could you please confirm what i think is correct virgin uses the same mcc and mnc codes as t-mobile?
thanks people,
Ollie

virgin 23400 on some phones

8310 code v1 is possible, too

usually code 7 in the uk

please post product code (begins with 05XXXX or 06XXXX) from label under battery from some 8310s

ok thanks, why do you think product code could make a difference? oh yeah and is there any way of checkin the original network using the product code because nokia service centre near me can tell by lookin at the product code, cheers mate

by product code you can check if phone is unlocked retail version

even if phone is not locked, you get "code error", that's the difference to old dct-3 phones which say "sim was not restricted" with wrong calculated code, too

dct-4 phone says "phone was not resricted" only if calculation is correct, for unlocked retail phones config key to calculate is 00101

ok thanks for that, so i just type that in where the mcc and mnc is? but surely an unlocked retail phone wont need unlocking??? its strange cos other phones i have no problems but it just doesnt like 8310s!!!!!!

as 8310 are the oldest dct-4 series, there should be no problems

please post product codes and first 8 digits of IMEI, try to enter code only without simcard

for some uk phones which use GID 1 lock, it might be necessary to enter NOT code 7 or 5, but 2 and 1.
