what is a dejan box

Can someone tell me what is a dejan box.If i have an unlock cable set and a flash cable set and all the software do i need a dejan box. Because i already flashed a couple of phones with my flash cables and it worked succesfuly and i have unlocked the networks with my unlocking cables. Now do i need a dejan box aswel for something else or do i have everything nessasary for flashing and unlocking phones,Please advise if there is anything that i still need to do or anything like that to have full capability of minipulating a phone,and if someone can explain what it does if there is anything else i need

The Dejan box is only needed if you want to use the Dejan software to flash and unlock phones. If you already can flash and unlock the phones then there is really no reason for another investment in a different kind of box for working with phones.

You cannot use the Dejan Box with programs like Rolis, knok,darkflasher,... You can only use it with WinDLS,WinDDP, it also calculates the FAID with the integrated PIC automaticly.

dejan "box" is not needed anymore. that was from before the days you could update FAId with your "unlocking" cable :)

That said I think its easier to use the dejan box cos it means you can flash and update faid in one go without having to unplug it from the flasher cable and plug it into the mbus cable.

Plus after using WinDLS and Rolis, WinDLS seem much more simple to use, for the beginner anyway.

You should be able to get the dejan box and all the dct3 cable for about £25, which is not to bad really.

before FAId calc was free, i had a box for a few months; but it was not really so stable.
often, the faid calc at the end of flashing failed, and in those cases you needed to flash all again!
untill calc came free anyway :)

i just have the two leads coming from computer now, very simple to change phone connector between the two.

pico, is there a guide somewhere which would explain to me all the in's and out's of how to use rolis, I can use it but only just.

Would be interested to know exactly what it can do, I have seen chuckheads guide but it does really explore all of the options within rolis??

Also is there a one stop shop for all the mcu's and ppm's, I ask cos in Windls you open and it lists all mcu's and the ppm's that go with each version and even what languages are in each ppm, most of the web sites that I have seen Like nokia-flash.tk don't have every software version.

I know you don't need them all but if a jobs worth doing and all that.

theres not really much to rolis than what you see..
only other options i can think off hand is options>setup>(untick "rewrite mcu, even if same"). now you can flash just ppm packs, like with your dejan box :)
you also got special>scan flash>("select file"), that will check if the flash file you got is going to work with the phone..

as for full "flash packages", i dont see those about much these days, people started charging for flash files and most good sites disapeared or members only.
you get the full packs (with all ppm) from nokia's partners sites, which password protected.
i got some CD a while ago with a lot of those packs on, you should find others online selling if you want to look but unless you flash languages for people its never really needed is it :)

Wanted to get into that, but still cannot think how to advertise it, because if I put a sign in the shop window say something like, "change the language on your nokia phone to your mother tounge"????? or something like that anyone who could read it can obiously understand english and therefore wont need to change the phones ppm.

any ideas???

most people advertise something like "software upgrade/language changes", but i doybt many people get much custom for that. i know i never did in the past, as you say most people stick to english:D
its bigger busines for people who get a shed load of phones to ship abroad really:)

Sounds about right, I have asked loads of people and no one seems to have a good idea.

moving on to DCT4's what do you think it the best flasher for those.

I use Neelix 2, which I think is spot on,

i had a couple of the "cheap flashers" (china box), but altho they gone cheap now really its best to go with a name for the future updates..
neelix 3, prodigy or griffin (griffin seems best at the mo.) they all got pretty good suports. just see what your budget will work with, and if you'll make the money back. saying that, i never had many interest in dct4 anyway (same with the people i sold boxes too).. or the repairs needed were hardware :)
maybe advertise it first, then if the interests there..
