I just recently bought the Nokia 6610 and am looking around for good applications to download. I was wondering if I could get some links to site who offer them. Also, I was wondering if anyone knew of an application that would use the 6610's infrared port and use it as a control remove for TV, VCR, ect. Any help with this or with little tips and tricks (or secrets) of the 6610 will be appritiated. Thank you and God bless.

unfortunately there is no application to turn a 6610/7210 etc into a tv remote. I read that it cannot be done because java doesnt control the hardware or something. Can you send pictures via Infared? I have a 7210 and i cant, just wondering if it was possible with a firmware upgrade

No you can't send pics through the IR till this day...don't know if it's possible in the future...what you CAN do is to use the phone as an Winamp remote :) through GPRS

ohhhh how can I do this? Kinda gives me an idea to use that to control the PC's infrared to mess around with the T.V.s in my room when I'm not around... kinda useless but funny to see people's (family and friends) reaction when my T.V turns on or off by itself or starts changing channels when I'm not home. :)

I really hate to since I also own a N6610. But to tell you tha truth, series 40 Nokia has a crippled IR. And I am afraid it will stay this way.
