a800 help software needed

i really need help with a800, it takes all simcards but wont let me make calls,
will flashing the phone solve this problem?

if so can anyone tell me where i can download the software to flash the phone? i will also need help as its the first time ive flashed a phone

Sounds like it is barred, flashing won't cure that.

if i write a new eeprom will that work?
now and then the phone lets me ring out so its definitely a fault somewhere,

what software shall i use?
where can i get it from?
and is it easy to use?

Ah, so it can make calls.

Thats different, you need someone with UST VSHGSM sw, not free, has been partially cracked but not successfully for your model from memory.

SW costs couple of hundred dollars, and worth it.
