View Full Version : Free Nokia Firmware Upgrades

Just for those people who don't know; if you Nokia mobile phone is under warranty (12 months after original purchase) you can call the nokia care centre and they will tell you where you can get the firmware upgraded on your phone without voiding your warrenty, and it's garunteed to work :P

So, instead of buying expensive cables and flashers, just go and ring Nokia.

If you're in Perth, W.A. and you want to know where to get your phone upgraded, reply here and i'll give you the details. I just got my Nokia 6610 upgraded to firmware v4.74 from v4.28.

that's right.

but, sometimes you have to wait couple days when service is upgrading firmware.

i have time, but don't want to wait 2 days when i can do it myself in 10 minutes.

and btw, i upgraded my 5510 from 05.43 to 05.53 in nokia service centre just to see if they erase all stored information from eeprom. and they did.
and when i upgrade my own phone, i don't erase information stored on eeprom.

I got my Nokia 6610 upgraded, like i said, and nothing got deleted of my phone. It kept my GPRS/MMS settings, all my phone numbers, etc etc.

i was told by carphonewarehouse that firmware upgrades are free even after warrenty is over

I have a list of Nokia approved service centres if any1 wants it. I got it from here http://www.nokiainfo.co.uk/ but the d/l link seems to be broken now...
