MCU and PPM get more free space,so the phone speed will not slow (when get in sub menu or type message).
Just like the computer RAM .
I'm right?

Cos I use g3n0lite v1.7 reserve PPM space n
add something in MCU free space.
After that the phone sometime geting slow.
especially use T9 type sms,the word get out very slow.
Is that the free space problem?

Hi,

I think free space is more like defrag on a harddisk.

Behind mcu and behind the ppm are unused data areas in rom.

The trick is to move the ppm towards the end of the file.

Then the free space of the mcu and the ppm can be combinated to 1 big block.

The reason why it is between the mcu & ppm is simply since if U change the ppm afterwards, all data after it will move up and therefore fail.

ThX NokDoc.

U mean this problem may be existent.
So we better don't use much more free space, right.

Hi,

I think U have to use it if U want to have free space extra for eg new logos.

I not noticed speed differences myself, but I use the flashspacer method, not the adding of a PPM CODE chunk like as in G3n0Lite.

I don't think U can find much speed problems by adding free space.

Typing a sms is a very complex function.

While typing, the whole text is being rescanned all the time.

So the longer Ur message gets, the slower Ur phone will react.
