N00B Question: What is Net Monitor?

I'm fairly new to phone reverse engineering, but I've got myself an M/FBUS cable and unlocked my phone and also activated "Net monitor". What is it? What do you use it for? And how would it be useful to me?

the netmonitor is a hidden menu in every dct3 nokia.
there you can see specific information about your phone and network... e.g. about net, cells, batterie, temperatures, voltages, list of sent and received sms, also there are many timers... switch licht on/off, hehe. and so on on on on.

but you should not play around with some display. some can causes network-troubles... and you should not select any display directly. even scroll down display, if you have no idea what you do!
