I also have problems with rolis 4.78 I have an LPT flashing lead - And an m-f Bus serial cable. My phone is saying CONTACT SERVICE. I have tried the contact service doc but when I use rolis 4.78 I just get the Egg Timer - if I press the power button on the phone this makes no difference:(

With regards to the Flasher, try change the LPT port from 1 to 2 in Rolis settings (Step one in the Tutorial!)! I had this problem! As for your serial cables, if you have a switch for M & F, select M for unlock, FAID, reset etc. and F for logo's ringtones pictures ect.!;)

The adapter you have purchased may also be a WinDLS adapter! Try to flash with this instead of Rolis or Knok!:( ;)

Is Your adapter for the F/Mbus cable...If its so You cant use rolis or Knok...different hardware in F/Mbus cable and flasher cable...

You have the right cables! Just try my suggestions! Where did you buy the LPT adapter? You may have to use WinDLS!;)

Laptop parallel ports aren't always suitable for flashing - make sure it's set to ECP and if it's either win XP or 2K that you have userport running. Otherwise you'll probably have to use a "desktop" PC to flash.

You never said it was a laptop! Also laptops sometimes have problems with supplying enough power to the parallel port in order to flash! That's only if your using batteries! Plug it into a socket to eliminate this! Ensure you have ECP set in BIOS! VERY IMPORTANT!;)
