Hi,

How do I go about sending the JAR/JAD files I have downloaded for the 3410 to the phone? I have an F/M Bus cable

I am a newbie, please treat me like one! (explain everything that isn't blindingly obvious)

Thanks,

Jim

There are two ways to answer this....
1) It can't be done (standard answer)

2) It can be done, but it requires a little patience.

You will need a flasher cable (you can build one yourself quite easily ... do a search on the forum for the diagrams - you'll know you found the right one if it's got a 74HC14 in it) and some software that will be released soon.

See the reply I just wrote to your other post... it's exactly the same cable that I refered to a few minutes ago and will work with both the 3310/5 and 3410.

For the software, you'll have to wait a little while. It's being beta tested at the moment but it works perfectly on my pc and my phone. When I get "the nod" from the testers that it's working on their systems as well, I'll remove a few lock's I've added to the code and release it publicly. So check back here regularly :)

In the meantime, how about you zip the jad and jar together and post the app here for anyone else that might be interested?

Shame

I'm absolutely positive that I've sent games to a 6310i before, perhaps this was on infra-red though, or perhaps I'm making it up

Any ideas?

"you can build one quite easily"

You reckon I could? I'm looking now for the diagrams etc

Thanks again

You probably have? But the 3410 is a completely different phone :)

If you don't want to build a cable, you can buy one instead :)

Yeah it was my Dad's work phone

Wasn't very difficult either, I seem to remember

I would like to buy one, anywhere in the UK that isn't too expensive? I'm not very good at building electrical stuff, my soldering skills aren't up to scratch

Thanks,

Jim

NokiaFree doesn't really like advertising, it's very hard to post a link without it seeming like an advert.

However, I'll tell you this, use google, this is what I payed:

Under £19 for:

Flasher PS/2 cable (One end PS/2, other end Parallel)
Data PS/2 cable (One end PS/2, other end Serial)
Four PS/2 Heads for all dct3 Nokia phones (To connect to either flasher or data cable)

Inc Vat and delivery.

Cheers
