It is possible to have DIGITAL ZOOM on the nokia 7650, but this is software based as that of cameraFx and Photographer. This is mearly just zooming in a small portion of the actual photo diode to be taken. no enhancement being done and the quality of photo taken is poor. this is due to the nature and capability of the CMOS chip the phone carries.. as previously talked about in the forum CMOS chips although cheaper and easier to manufacture are far behind in picture quality compared to CCD devices. but in time CMOS chips will gain popularity and might even be better than CCD's this we have to wait for.... For optical zoom, non in the moment can be used to replace the existing size compartment of a production class celphone. this is due to the requirement of celphone manufacturers to fit an optical device in a very limited space thus no optical zoom device can be used...
but there are new developements using very small bots or simple motors that can do the job that of the conventional optical lenses... all we have to do is wait.....

You can try to use photographer.. try to look at some of the earlier reply's by the members on the difference between photographer and CameraFx.. both has digital zoom capability but one has better quality than the other when it comes to actual shots taken

Actually I am sure all who has tried using both would agreed with mi tat there is not much different in terms of quality although photographer is able to take better pic in darken surrounding. However, CameraFX has more fetures included. I personally feel tat camera FX is better.
If u want good quality photos, make sure u take it in the open where there is enough light. As for the zoom, both sux big time if u zoom it to the fullest. If 10x is given...working range is aroung 5x. Personal experience. Do correct mi if I am wrong. Tks~Cheers.:D

It is hard to take good quality pictures using the 7650/3650 specialy at night since these phone use only a CMOS chip with a 5 ++ lux rating.. very poor.... they need to enhance on this ... to be able to take at least a .5 lux rating or might as well 0 lux night vision....

CameraFX has somewhat more added features than that of Photographer but both does not increase or makes the quality of the picture to be clearer..
