Hi Everyone,
first of all I'd like to thank you to all of you who posting information and tips & tricks (thanks especially you Sektor_1 ;) ) and of course programs and add-ons.
What confuse me most are running processes on my commy 9210 v4.13. I'd like to use this thread for exchange information about those processes. I bought 128MB MMC and as usual load and install every application I could. It definitely wasn't best idea in my life. But s**t happens.
I am looking for someone or some ones web pages to better understand services on symbian v6. I don’t need any cracks and/or any programs as I have already everything I had ever need.
Lets keep couple of threads not to swapping or sharing software.
Software I am currently using for this field of interest:

Switcher-1.4-9210.sis
memorymon_9210.SIS
SmartMemoryV1.04_full.SIS
Appman_v1.03.sis

Information below have been collected from APPman 1.03 with only Appman, desk and telephone running, before any compress/defrag/compact has been applied.

HU - Actual heap usage
SS - Stack segment size

As you can see, there is many processes running even if you don’t need them. But which one is safe to kill? Anybody knows…

i have personally tried killing the following processes

WAPSTKSRV, this always loads back up no matter how many times I close it.

EFile. If you close this you get file corruption on mmc and c: (dont try and close this 1 :-) )

Msexe, if you close this it loads back up again

LogServ, this the phone log, you can close this but I have found that every so often it corrupts the log and your commy can hang.

Telephone
-RecordCallOnLog . I have managed to close this successfully with no side effects.

I have a 9210i v6

Does also someone know what are they?
what for instance is C32exe and what is it doing?
I installed Doom 1.3 yesterday. And therefore had some free memory problems. So doom closed telephone and desk and here we go. Play doom was easy then. I just cant believe that we have to close everything b4 we can even play a game!! What it can happen when someone tries to call you during playing Doom is better not to imagine. Anyone has some experience with that?

Also have to say Switcher, smart memory, memory monitor and memory are useless if you have Appman installed. Very nice piece of software have to say.

I dont know what those specific processes do, I have sent an email to my friend who works for nokia, hopefully he will more info.

Someone calling you when playing doom is not really a problem because telephone is still running, it just pauses the game Getting a sms message when playing doom is a bigger problem when u get the message the messaging app has to load up and if there is not enuff memory then commy crashes.

Also have to say Switcher, smart memory, memory monitor and memory are useless if you have Appman installed. Very nice piece of software have to say.

they all have their plus points

switcher for example isn't memory resident unlike appman and memory monitor...

But I have to agree with you, I use appman aswell and think its the best of the bunch :-)
