My little brain has been thinking again! Would it be possible to devise a software that could send commands to certain components on the PCB and give us results? I know eeprom tools does this, but...

Imagine it sends a signal from the PC to phone, it has to pass through components! Can we get feedback on these? Like if the CPU is faulty or a blown led, or a faulty antenna switch, CCONT is stuffed!? Do you follow me?:(

Yes, this is perfectly possible, especially in DCT3 phones you can send any program you want through the flasher interface - you could send specialised testing programs for certain components, relying only on the MAD internal memory and MAD itself to work.

But I know the *BUS interface has a lot of diagnostic, debugging and testing commands as well, possibly there is already a program that does what you want through just MBUS/FBUS? wintesla? pc locals? (mind I never used any of those..)
