Urgent Barred 8310 Info

I HOPE AM POSTING THIS IN THE CORRECT SECTION. I HAVE BOUGHT A 8310 FROM A GUY BRAND NEW IN BOX IT WAS A PAY MONTHLY UPGRADE THEN IT WAS TURN OFF {BARRED ON ALL NETWORKS} I HAVE CONTACTED HIM HE SAID IT IS NOT HIS PROBLEM.. BUT ANOTHER GUY TOLD ME HE HAS CLAIMED OF HIS INSURANCE AND GOT A NEW PHOHE A T100 THUS BARRING THE 8310 PHONE ..JUST WANT TO KNOW MY RIGHTS ON THIS MATTER . HAS HE COMITTED FRAUD DO I CONTACT ORANGE!! AND TELL THEM OR THE POLICE!! HAS ANYONE ANY EXPERIENCE OF THIS HAPPEN TO THEM AND WHAT WAS THE OUT-COME!!!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE JOHN H

He has committed a deception on his phone provider (Obtained property by deception)

Report him both to Orange and the police.

i don't think that you can do anything.

why?
because you only baught the phone from him, but orange has his details, and he reported the phone as stolen - his phone. so now you actually have a "stolen" phone, which you cannot proof that it is yours in any way... think about it, someone steals your phone, then comes to your provider and say he baught it from you...this is how it will look to them.

when you buy a phone from someone, make sure that you both go to the operator and change the ownership, so things like this will not happen again...

i guess this is one of the lessons we all have to learn in life...:(

I bought a Sony CMD-Z7 ( in box with charger and instructions etc )
It worked for about a month and was then barred

I couldn't get hold of the person I bought it of again
I am now stuck with a phone that doesn't work

Sell the Sony Z7 on Ebay, then buy yourself another Z7 or another phone. You do not even have to tell the bidder, that its barred, as it will work in any country except UK. So you write "Shipping worldwide except UK".

I would buy the phone, as I am in Austria and the phone will work here without any problems.
