hi guys i tried copying an .html file that i can browse locally using internet browser in 9210 but when i copied the file it turned into a .doc file so it opens in word processor but when I tried doing it at home it works! the difference is my OS at home is windows ME & win2k here in the office...is there anything to do w/ the OS??

Do you have copy anywhere running on the pc. Look in the taskbar next to the time (the right hand side) if it is, disable it.

i can only think of that

os should not make a difference.

still the same sektor_1 any other way??? btw what's the use of that copy anywhere?

copy anywhere automatically starts to convert files from pc format to communicator format, thats all.

have you tried changing the extension on the file on the commy.

GO to file manager and rename the file you just copied across changining its extension from .doc to .html

i already did that but it still opens in word...it puzzles me why it works in my PC at home & i think pc anwhere is also enabled when i transfer the .html files

hhmm anyway thanks setor_1 btw when i "save as" there is an option to change the format there are ff. choices:

1. EPOC
2. microsoft 95, 97 & 2000

what is that EPOC????

epoc is the internal file format that is the standard with the communicator.

Another note: If you drag/drop the .html file with the Right-mousebutton to your comunicator , you'll be given the choice "Copy&Convert" and "Copy". The second will copy the .html file as it is and you'll be able to open it with your browser.
