I was using my 3590 w/ Tmobile and noticed that I had $60.00 worth of minutes left w/ AT&T, so I changed sims and used it for a day. The next morning the phone was dead, it won't turn on. Can they disable a cell like that? And if so can I get a cable and reflash it, bringing it back to life?
Thanks for info!

Now to answer your question, no, I am fairly sure it's impossible to stop a phone from turning on, I doubt a service provider would even do that if they could.
Did you violate a ToS by switching SIMs or?
Flashing should probably fix it...but there should be another reason for it not turning on...what happens when you plug in your charger?

I didn't mean to post so many times, but my browser was taking forever to post, now I can't delete some of the post because there's no delete option. I apologize again for my mistake!
As far as the 3590 goes nothing happens when I plug the charger in. What does Tos stand for?
Thank you for your time!
ToS = Terms of Service. It is something you either signed or electronically signed.
If you had a contract, you signed this. If you are pay as you go, you electronically signed this by inserting the SIM card.
Some ToS will bar you for unlocking/using other SIM cards before a certain period.
Having said that, this is rare, and they have no right to destroy you phone. I doubt that they would do this.
The fact that your charger is not making the phone charge means that the phone probably has a hardware problem, I think if you can't switch on the phone or charge, it'd be quite hard to flash :)
I think you need to try and remember any possible hardware damage? Any drops, knocks etc...this will have probably caused it. Or of course water damage etc?
Cheers

I agree it definately sounds like a hardware problem. Is the phone under a year old? If it is send it back to nokia for them to fix free!!!

Thanks for the feed back guys! I'm not too sure about hardware problems the phone is less than a month old. No drops, abuse, or water damage it's in an AT&T leather case which holds the phone together very well.
It comes to life when activated w/ the M-Life logo even w/ the T-mobile Sim, probably the firmware. It was down for two days then it came back to life. Of course now I save my phone book to the Sim card, and not the Phone/Sim default.
Just because I'm Paranoid, doesn?t mean their not out to get me!
