Ok im thinking of getting a 3650 or a 6800, but they have this copy protection DRM crap forward locking crap on it, which totally ruins the phone for me. Its my phone and it should do what i want, not what some rich company wants it to do. Its invasive, anyway, enough about that..

Any patched firwmwares to get rid of the crap? if so where do i get a flash cable, and a flash proggy to run on windows/linux? where do i get the patched firmwares?

Can you somehow exctract "protected" content from a phone with some sort of cable, and remove the DRM from your computer? and then send it back to the phone, un-drm'ed?

i heard there is no real way of getting rid of it? possibly true but i doubt it. can you get the stuff sent to the computer? through the internet? or external device(not phone), remove protection and send it to the phone?

can anyone help me out here, i tried other forums but i got a load of moral bull about how evil i am that i want to get rid of this DRM virus, yes i call it a virus. because thats the closest thing i can think of describing it. like MSBlast - copy and paste dont work and you cant move files :P

I need to know this before spending good money on a phone that tells me what i can do with my downloaded apps and such. it should be the other way around. I should be telling my phone what to do with it (send it to all in my phone book) :P i hope someone understands how i hate the clientsidedness of all of this DRM crap. I reeely hate drm.

Personally I have no idea what this DRM thing is about.

But I have a nokia 3650, and have customised it exactly the way I want to. I can copy and paste files in my phone using a file explorer such as FExplorer or SeleQ. I can transfer files to and from my phone using bluetooth or a mmc card reader (infra red is in there also). And I can transfer and alter any files from my memory card using a mmc card reader. If I need to alyer my phone's files, I can just backup my phone's memory onto my memory card, edit it on my computer and then reload the backup.

CAn you explain what this DRM thing is?

it is this forward lock thing so that when you download proggies and ringtones and such the phone will encrypt it and such and stop you from forwarding it to other phones. it will let you copy it to a computer, but only the encrypted copy that will only run on that particular phone.

i dunno if its always forward locked or if you can still forward stuff that isnt "protected"
