since the local nokia care center here doesnt care, i have managed to locate a dct4 box to flash the phone. can someone please help me with the 3650 firmware, preferably v3.16?

i got similar prob but with the setrvice centre my one is to be honest full of cocks!!! every time i go in there they think im just some rich fucker with a good phone trying to make it better so dont care, also they never seem to know what they are doing, the technician has never been there, all they care about is getting you connected to a new contract!!

the problem is similar to the ones documented on the forum:

one fine morning i took the phone out of my pocket and it was turned off. since then, whenever i try to turn it on, it powers up, the nokia logo flashes 4 times and the phone turns off

my phone had v2.54 firmware. looking through here and other forums it sounds like i need to upgrade to v3.x of the firmware and hence my search for the same.

i took the phone to the local nokia uncare center and they didnt even bother to run any diagnostics. they had a simple reply - these new phones cant be repaired. as i bought my phone in a different country, warranty is not valid here so i am on my own

i have now got a dct4 flash box also. the cd that came with it has v3.0.8 of the firmware. i am searching for something newer if possible(3.16) as that should solve my problem

yes, it wont boot up in safe mode

the dct4 box is not a griffin, its a chinese make i picked up from a local importer, for US$60 equivalent. sort of a dongle you plug in either parallel or USB port of the pc, and connec the data cable to the dct4 box and the phone. it has options to flash mcu+ppm or ppm only.

it has data cables and firmwares for most dct4 phones, except 3650 and 7650! he is getting me the data cable for 3650, but wont promise firmware, any version :(

i installed the flash software and experiemented with the firmware on the cd in dummy mode, and it seems reasonably straightforward. i am hoping it will work, just need the right version of firmware

when i launch the dct4 executable, a simple window pops up, where i select the ppm language file, it picks up the corresponding mcu flash file. you then click on the flash phone button. it has an option to read from phone also, i will try it once i get the data cable. also has the option to reset the phone code to 12345. those are pretty much the options. comes with a manual too, but thats barely legible

Dewd...check it out before investing. Wots da point if it wont even work wid ur 3650.

If u can get ur fone back to da nokia care, tell them to flash only C disk and not a full flash.

If that doesnt work, at max your flash component is screwed. Tell them to arrange the spares for u....they can import.

Sometimes some nokia technicians have no idea wot they r doing...especially with these new fones...and sadly some of these technicians are in nokia care centre :(

Alinus will tell u .....I have been there...done that. But it worked out for me....I hope it does for u too.
