Help on Repairing A1018s (dead)

Hi there,

I´ve got an Ericsson A1018s from my friend, but there is a problem.

There was some experimenting on this phone because of it´s simlock/providerlock. The guy used "some" software from the internet, and suddenly the phone couldn´t switched on anymore.

I´ve been doing simlock removing on all nokia phones for a long time now, but Ericsson is all new to me...

Here´s the actual problem:

When I connect the phone to the computer, I can´t read out the phone´s memory or whatsoever.
The phone can´t be switched on manually (press "No" for a few seconds).

Can I repair this phone myself?
What´s the main problem here?
Is the phone automaticly "locked" due to wrong usage of software?

I can only presume that your "friend" has wiped some of the data in the phones flash or eeprom lol

if you want the software to detect the phone when flashing or unlocking then take the battery out and insert it when the software asks for the phone power on.

Use Ericsson workshop 3 to flash your phone as zulea atr 5.3 bat has been known to cause problems when flashing. Use atr 5.3bat for unlocking :)

Hi,

I tried the "trick" with the battery thing. It works. But:
I can let the software "see" the phone, but totally nothing appears on the phone´s screen. Even not after resetting the phone through software.
Before I ruin the complete phone, what should I flash? Should I flash a full flash, or only Eeprom or both?

Could you please guide me in the good direction?

hi m8, yes use a full flash and a eeprom too.

use the link i gave you for the eeprom and flash
download them then use the software link above for flashing.


Then do as you had to do before i.e the battery trick to get it to recognise the phone.


this should work and you can also use this software for unlocking it too :)

Thanks to you Phantom2002, I can power on my phone again, but (damn, always those "but" things....)
After flashing the phone, it keeps asking me: Insert correct card.
I´ve tried all my sim cards (Vodafone, Ben O² and Dutchtone) but same problem over and over again.

I´ve tried unlocking it with "atr 5.3bat for unlocking" , but no good. I´ve tried to lock the phone to one networkwith atr 5.3bat (network code 204-16) And I´ve tried changing Imei to original.

Under the battery there´s the original Imei.
Something like 123456-12-123456-1
With Nokia phones I must enter only first 14 numbers. Is it the same with Ericsson?

Have you got any idea what is going on with the phone? What more to try..

Anyway, as I said, I´m very very happy that the phone ain´t dead anymore... I have faith I´ll work soon again..

click on the fast unlock button then connect your phone by doing the battery trick again :)


should work to unlock :)
