Hi everybody
I have a Nokia 2100. When I sent message with over 70 characters, message pay doubled. I think it is a software problem. How can I solve this problem. Did anybody see it before? Thanks a lot.

Hi! Well I dont think that there is a problem with your fone. Its probably the service provider. If you notice on the top right-hand corner there's e.g 70/2. The person who you sent the message to will recieve 2 massages instead of 1. Try changing your character support option to automatic.

Hi there :)
The trouble is caused by the use of "unicode", that is, "non-standard" signs. If you switch to "normal mode" (no turkish letters) the message will be send as text, you can have up to 160 signs in each part of the message. If you use unicode (with turkish "special" letters), that will be reduced to 70. If your message is longer than those 70 signs, the phone automatically splits it into up to three parts with max 70 signs each. So you send ONE (long!) message, but it is billed as two or three (normal length, max 70 unicode signs) messages.
I got the same here when i use thai input (also unicode) or write a standard message longer than 160 characters. It goes out as one (long) but is billed as two or three. The 3310 does the same thing! In fact all phones which support "concatenated SMS" (long messages, more than 160/70 chars) do that.
Hope this was of help....
Kind regards
Thanh
