Hi,

I just got my 6610 today(yay), and although it's a damned fine phone there's one thing that I really don't like about it - how it goes back to the text editor (with all your text still there) when you've sent an SMS message. At this point you have two options, either clear out all the text and exit, or select exit editor from the menu. However, using the menu makes it save a copy in 'Archive' - and I really don't want nor need that. I want my phone to just go back to the main/sms menu when it's done sending.

I haven't owned a Nokia for quite some time, but I do remember my first Nokia going back to the main sms menu after it was done sending. The Ericssons I've owned in between also do this, no problems at all.

Any ideas? Can the behavious be changed? I've scoured manuals, the net and this forum, but I really can't find anything.

Thanks for any ideas,
scoorf

i have a 3330, and it's the same (except that it doesn't an "archive" and sent sms are not saved).

i don't see why it is a problem? simply delete the message from the screen..

anyway, i don't know of any option in the phone that makes it go back to the main screen when done sending a message... maybe you can modify a flash to do it?

It's not a problem, per se, but it does take up a bit of time(and is quite annoying when you just wanna .. "move on"). It's more a habit thing that my other phones haven't had this behaviour, and I suppose I prefer it that way.

A modified flash would be interesting, hopefully someone's done that already and will be reading this thread. =)

I doubt anyones made a modified flash : the 6610 is a DCT4 phone with encrypted firmware (i think) so i dont think its going to be possible in the near future.

Since you cant change the behaviour, i suppose you could just press the hang-up button to exit the text editor completely.

It is not possible to change that behaviour. It is common to all Nokia models and it's designed that way because of usability in situations where you want to maybe edit your SMS and/or re-send it to other person. Anyway, it is very logical screen to return.
