Hey all, I have an 8310 which a friend gave to me cos he couldnt get it to work; well there is no reception.

When I turn on the phone, I get a message ' SIM card Registration failed ' and when i 'quit' there is no reception at all.

Is there any way to fix the phone? I'm a newbie and have never unlocked a phone or flashed etc... so any help will be appreciated :(

Thanks, In Advance

first thing u need to try is to upgrade the software on this phone , to do that u need a dct4 flasher with cables and the software for the 8310 , hmm this phione should be under warranty ....if so ,,, id go down to your local nokia service centre .

or if u have the dct4 flasher , flash it !
then go from there .

ps first try another sim card !! i think the 8310 work on the newer sim cards , some older simcards wont work (voltage )

there are no flashing solutions as yet for this generation of phones, unless you pay £300+. the IMEI has been blocked (I guess its ex-orange?) there aint much you can do.

i may be on the wrong track here but when i get that mesage it usually means the sim card is no longer activated.hence try another sim. personally i always steer clear of 8310s as they are horrible to work on hardware wise:)
