I got a T28 world and a T28s that need to be unlocked and I don't know what I am doing. The lady at the store said that I can just unlock it at home. So can anyone tell me how to unlock them.

nice lady at the shop... You have to buy a special service cable and download a program to unlock you phone - the best is ATR 5.3 I think.

A normal data cable will do it, you can get the software HERE (http://www.cubwolf.btinternet.co.uk/software/atrserv.zip) . Remember the T28 world is 900/1900 band though so will never work on 1800mhz networks.
