Hi peeps! Im trying to use real player to play some video files that i have copied from properbomovies. I have copied them into a videos folder of my mmc but when i go to real player and browse the mmc, it says there are no video files. I am able to play them when i open them in my file manager but this is a lot of effort. Any1 got ne ideas how to open them direct from the real player? Cheers

Real player will only recognise .rm (real media) files. Use Helix Producer or Nokia Multimedia Converter for 9xxx series (found on www.nokia.com). Just go to one fo the pda/phones and find the software available for it. This version converts files to .rm, whereas the one on forum.nokia.com converts to .3gp

The files on properbomovies are already .rm I have downloaded a lot of them and they all work fine with real player, it finds them no bother on my mmc, try moving them to the others folder and see if it recognises them then.

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you meant that you had converted files from proper (legit, legal) movies on your computer and couldn't get real player to read them. The same thing happens to me. It only recognises videos in the videos folder.

Just a point of clarification, although Real Player was designed to play .rm files, it can also play mpeg4 files, as long long as you use the correct settings in Pvauthor version 3.3 to convert your videos. Real Player doesn't play mpeg4 files created with Pvauthor version 3.0, you have to use Pvplayer to play mpeg4 video files created with version 3.0.
The video quality produced by version 3.0 isn't so good, but the nice thing about it is that you can watch it in fullscreen (landscape) mode when you use pvplayer, but as I've said, the video quality is poor.

In my MMC I have a video folder and a videos folder, my .rm files are located in the video folder, while my 3gp files (for pvplayer) are located in the videos folder. Try creating a "video" (without the "s") folder and try putting your .rm files there. Hope it works.

A format should put the problem right if all else fails, and it's kinda looking that way.
