Hi,

I tried to make a 5110-524B with 7 bars.

Since I don't have a 5110, I cannot test it myself.

Anyone has interest to test it for me?

And if it works ok, maybe someone can put is somewhere for downloading?

Thanks.

Hi,

I send the file to the email account on which U registered Urself here.

Let's hope it works.

I dono bout 5110 versions.

This version 524 was included in the WinArm package I got from the Nok5Rev's pages.

Thank you very much! I got it! I will check it right now! :)

On the first check the netgraphs are working 100%, but the battery meter is faulty. 2 bitmaps drop. (except 1)
(Battery type: NiMh)
These modifications are only @ MCU part, so i can edit this flash with genolite and ppmedit too? (if the checksums are not dead?)

Hi,

Nice, I think we suffer the NiMh battery bug. (7 > 6 > 5 > 1 bars)

I have it with my 3310 too, but on the LiIon it works ok.

I'm sorry, but I dono the true cause yet.

I miss some info/ logics bout those 3 or 4 conversion tables.

Maybe someone else has another battery type and wanna test?

Bout modding, I can't tell U the effect, just try.

I think besides the netbars patch in g3n0lite, most is possible like a normal flash.

Not exactly 7>6>5>1

Mine was fullycharged, and droped 7>5.
Network seem working fine.

Your modifications are only @ Mcu, isnt it? U dont touch the ppm side.
So if i get the mcu with rolis and attach my edited ppm, the flash should work fine. (done it with my 3310 without problem.) The only problem could be the firmware version crash.

if allowed i would like to try it.
i have several 5110 and i use it myself.
i also have several types of battery.
so if you would please be kind enough to email it to me to [email protected]
although i can't be online very often but i will try to test the file and post the results within the week.

regards

Mr, Shin,

File sent...

Mr. SmOg,

If after the 7 > 5 comes 4 bars, then I'm almost convinced it is ok. ;)

The steps is now almost the double scale, so 1 block decrease would mean 2 now. (ratio 14:25)

Also, I disactivated the integer rounding function which the original 4 bars version had.

That in my opinion makes the curve more realistic now.

U can follow the bars in percentages too in netmonitor menu 23.

3th row, 2nd collumn.

But let's better wait to see what other battery types gives as result.

Ps, yes, I only modded in mcu.

Problably you know me from a 6150- 7bars thread.
i wanted to say iŽve tested it with liIon battery and some days it works quite fine, until the bars go away fast, and there is still lots of energy in the battery.
btw the submastamodv2_file was already modded and iŽd like to have some "untouched" file because some mods couldnt be done again.
so would you mind if youŽd send me 6150 v p5.23 and your 5110 mod (as iŽd like to try my 5110 with the li-ion battery from the 6150 4 you) with 7 bars to [email protected] ?
graet appreciations to your work.
You really are one of the best.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

File send.

A tip for the 6150:

Do compare the file U gave with the file U got returned.

Put all those changes into a fresh file.

First of all,...
thanks a lot of course! You are the only one for me who can do such kinda tuning....
But your tip... sorry if i bother you with that but i dont think i can reverse the stuff i did cause it was really a lot and i cant compare it to another file lbut with a hexeditor and thats really lots of work.

btw can i change the 7 bars to the look of the ones in 3510 for example, by painting like with ppmedit, as i cant paint the 7 bars with ppmedit.
does it go with nokhex and if yes then can you give me the offsets?

Again...lots of thanks and a-b-c-ya

submasta

P.S. Can i change my nick in the forums? i didnt find any options or faq about that.

@NokDoc
Got the file. i will try it tonight.

btw...does anybody know how to build an eeprom programmer for nokia 5110? in my opinion it's a shame that a good phone like 5110 doesn't have any phone memory and i was getting this crazy idea to alter the eeprom so that it can save phonebook memory like the eeprom of 8210, 8250, or the PMM of 3330 and 3350.

NokDoc, is this kind of mod possible?

shin

thanks a lot NokDoc :)
u are a 'god'
i can't stop wondering how u made the file without a test phone and didn't come out with contact service.

i have flashed the file to both of my phones....
it works wonderfully except for one thing....
the battery bars doesn't dissappear one by one
after 7 it goes to 5, after 5 it goes to 2.
in this experiment i used my lithium ion battery and used it for active calls for approximately 2 days.
starting tommorow i will try to use a lithium polymer battery and see whether or not it will do any good.

ps. i tried it using your 7 bar file (the fresh unmodified one), and the one which i moddified (i only input indonesian language and deleted the other languages except for english). both files works just the same on both of my cell phones.

i will post more results after i tried using the lithium polymer battery.

Hi,

>> i can't stop wondering how u made the file without a test phone and didn't come out with contact service.

Yeah, I surprise myself too each time...

But ok, the file ain't good yet. :(

I gotto review where I made the mistake for U guys.

This is not that battery problem I suggest.

Please be some patient, it might take some time.

Thanks for testing it.

Ps, I ain't no god.

Dear NokDoc!

I have ssen you finally tried it on a 5110.... and i would love to test it, too, but i haven't got such phone :)

Now i suspect the 5110 and the 5130 are similar "enough" to port it to a 5130? Are you able (time wise) to do tat..? I would be particularly interested in the battery meter, since i use a already modded flash with a g3nolite network bar, which i love.......
I am able to test such file (since i got both the 5130 and a flasher)...... if you should have such file, you can send it to my e-mail adress (in profile).... thank you VERY much in advance :)

Kindest regards....
your Thanh

PS mine is DSP-4 :)

shin

mr thanh
from what i do know, 5130 is a gsm 1800 phone and 5110 is a gsm 900 phone. and the file might not work in 5130.
your phone might not be able register to the network or even 'blinks' and restarts itself.

do correct me if i'm wrong.
anyway, good luck

Mr. Thanh,

I'm sorry.

Too much time.

Too much headaches.

@ shin

I sure know of that.... that's why i asked for a portation of the mod to a 5130- file :) I won't flash a 5110 SW to my 5130.... it won't work.
BTW do you live in thailand? Because "shin"........ AIS (main network here) is run by the family of premier minister Thaksin SHINawatra and he's got several communication companies such as SHIN satellite and SHIN telecommunications.... just curious :)

@ NokDoc

No problems - i might try to reverse engineer (!) your mod and put it on a 5130 flash by myself - if you don't mind that, but i am a complete newbie in regards to "modding"........ keep up the good work! I admire you.......

Kindest regards....

good luck with the reverse engineering mr thanh....
and i'm not related to them, i live in indonesia.

mr NokDoc
you're right about the file being bad and has nothing to do with the battery, my test using the lithium polymer battery has the same results.
thank you for taking the trouble for creating such a flie for us 5110 users though.i really love this phone.

Mr. Sm0g & Mr. Shin,

At least I already found one stupid mistake.

Possibly and hopefully also the bug.

At 86B9C is a function that rounds up to a 25 (=19h) step scale.

Please deactivate that function by replacing only one byte.

At location 086BA2 replace the 2800 with BD00.

That way the function will stop before it gets rounded.

Tip: U can use hexgraph for that.
