THE NEW SOFTWARE FROM CUBWOLF IS 100% THE DOGS DANGLY BITS!!!!!!!!!

IVE USED IT TODAY TO UNLOCK 3 8310'S AND THERE ALL FINE.

I MUST ADMIT, I WAS A BIT SCARED TO TRY IT AT FIRST, BUT IT WAS WORTH THE RISK.

THANKS TO EVRYONE AT "www.VastGsm.Co.Uk" AND ALSO CUBWOLF.

NO MATE, ALL I DID WAS REMOVE THE SIM CARD AND HOLDER, PLUG IN THE 8310 CLIP, TURN ON THE PHONE, AND RAN THE SOFTWARE.

THE PHONE GOES OFF,
COMES BACK ON DISPLAYING "TEST MODE"
THE SOFTWARE DISPLAYS THE IMEI AND SOME OTHER INFO,
A PROGRESS BAR INDICATES TIME REMAINING, AND JOG DONE.

NO WIRES CONNECTED TO GROUND FOR ME MATE.

If the phone won't go to "TEST MODE" Use the "dct4 Unlok" program set the phone to TEST MODE first.. and then the Unlocker by JIC will do the rest of the job! ... :]

NOT BEING FUNNY OR OWT!.... BU WHY WOULD WE NEED A DONGLE, AS THIS SOFTWARE WORKS WITHOUT 1 MATE.

SO WHATS THE POINT.

ONLY THING I CAN THINK YOU MEAN IS FOR FUTURE SOFTWARE.

by the way, where can i find cables for dct4 phones and at what costs?

jeebus

ucables.com has them they might be a lil expensive. but they have the right ones
and
Ebay has them too alot cheaper...but ask the seller if it is mbus before you bid.
(btw do not buy from SONIC-MAN on ebay he blames his item not coming to you on the shipping and wont help you, heh sorry i am disgruntled).

u can use the standard f/m bus auto switching cable to unlock 8310 handsets. BUT YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR PHONE INTO TEST MODE AND JIC UNLOCKER CANT DO THAT WITH A STANDARD F/M BUS AUTOSWITCHING CABLE SO I PUT THIS TOGETHER FOR ALL OF YOU.

You bet your *** it would. XP is NT based and with that every direct hardware access is denied. Win98 lets you write to LPT/COM, HD without any knowledge. That's why (and many, many more reasons) they crash so often.

i found this software that supposedly can fix the privileged instruction thing by setting port authorizations in win2k, nt and XP. but when i add 0x3FB - 0x3FF (com1 for the data cable) it does not change anything.. could someone else try it and post your results, ideas ?

thanks

30-08-2002, 09:57 AM
I bealive it's driver based program.. Meaning: it's a driver that a program uses, IF it's compiled to use it. Who knows what functions do Win programs use to access COM ports. It's seen in the manuals that you need to issue direct assembly commands to access port. Mybe it doesnt work because your program isnt doing so?

re!

lostblur

thanks for responce doliman.

i found a solution, the driver only works on windows NT.
in windows XP you simnply have to select that the program is run in win98 mode. works 100% !

Trying to unlock using JIC, on XP but running on W98 compatability.

JIC reports that it's working and has turned the phone to test mode and that it "Wrote Simlocks OK!" but the phone stays in test mode.

When I restart the phone by disconnecting the battery and starting up again, it's still locked to T-Mobile.

I'm using a auto switch f/mbus cable

Anyone got any ideas?

Try using THIS (http://www.cubwolf.btinternet.co.uk/software/dct4tool.zip) software.
This will do the job with the autoswitching cable ;)

or you could simply right click on the executable file, and set it to run in win98/me compatibility mode..

worked for me and many others

Thanks, i did do this and the software reports to be working correctly and that it has cleared the SP lock. But now I have found out something new.

The phone does appear to be unlocked, as it works with a Vodafone SIM, but I still can't use in with my Cellnet SIM. The Cellnet SIM is not damaged as it works perfectly in my 6210.

Any ideas anyone - I appreciate your input.

I tried the JIC dct4 unlocker with my 8310 but the phone is still locked. I cant make clls with it.

Only hear 3 beeps and the call goes off. I first put the phone on "Test Mode" and hit the unlock button....

It doesnt work. pls tell me how to do this.

I also tried dct4 tools.....

lostblur

3 beeps is usually a sign of no available channels in the area, just keep trying or go to another area.

btw, if you are able to get to the part where you are able to dial a phone, your phone IS unlocked.

Hey guys, first off i wanna say thanks for all the info sofar regarding the dct4. Im a complete newbie to mobile phones, i have just used cheap phones until i found this 8390 ,
(its soo cool) Anyway i have downloaded the software from this page, The .zip file from cubwolf and the other one posted on the first thread, also i have downloaded the dct4tool for auto switching. ok now my Question is: i do not own a data cable and know nothing about Flashing, eeprom etc. all i wanna do is unlock my phone so i can use a fido card in my Rogers.at&t phone. the reason is im not a rich man and want to go pay as you go but rogers doesnt provide pay as you go for GSM, so....im here, can someone in detail explain to me exactly how i would go about unlocking my phone, and what cables to use (i have gathered that the mbus cable is the best but can i use a autoswiting cable? and i read about this "jic" unlocker, what .zip is it, cubwolfs or the other one on the first thread??? i will return the favor somehow if some one helps me. thank you in advance.

Hi everybody. I just want to thank everyone for a great forum. I managed at last to unlock my 6510 and it works perfectly. It took me about 30 sec, and there were NO problems. For those who wonder how it's done (this is how I did it):

1. Attach the cable and set the mode to mbus (important!)
2. Power up the phone
3. Put the phone into test mode with one of the tools attached
4. Run the JIC Unlocker
5. When the unlocker is finished, just restart the phone.

If you use Windows XP, set the programs to run in Win 98 compatible mode.

Now you should be all done!!:) :)

Thanx again everybody and have a nice day!!:) :)

Firstly, how can you tell a phone is blacklisted? Is that blacklisted by IMEI because it has been reported missing? What happens when you switch it on, what symptoms show you it's blacklisted?

Secondly, what IMEI tools are available now? As I understand it there aren't any yet....do you know different?

DaveGSM82
22-10-2002, 05:06 PM
you can tell its blacklisted when it comes up with sim card registration failed on the screen, or simply when you hear 3 beeps any time you try to make a call.

and yes, there are eeprom tools for imei change but this is illegal in the uk and now carries a jail sentence of up to 7 years.

oh,well.

Dave.

lostblur
22-10-2002, 06:57 PM
heya Dave,

just wanted to humbly disagree about three beeps symptom.

atleast here in USA, if you get that when you are trying to make a call it just means that EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL and frequency of your surrounding cell towers is busy and you shoudl try again.

clockwise, if your dialing starts, and then you receive that callee cannot be located when they are not underground and stuff, that means they dont have any channels available around them to handle a phone call.

DaveGSM82
26-10-2002, 09:32 AM
@ lostblur

yes this does happen here in the uk too, but the three beeps signify that the handset can not make a call (on T-mobile only) all other networks just display sim card regisration failed.

OK, i have tried all the software listed so far in this thread to unlock my orange 6310i i get the message "could not establish lonk to phone" with it. I have a duel mode cable but even after useing the software to put the phone into test mode it still doesn't work. I have tried various other bots of s/w from the internet some saying it has removed the sp locks but it still doesn't work. I have a paralel lead too. This is on a windows 98 pc i have all versions of windows from 3.11 to xp pro avalible to me but it doesn't seem to make any difference which one i use. I have found this to be a solution for those annoying 6310i phones!!,:- when you download the jic unlocker and then unzip it you will find a program in the folder that says "test" or "testmode", well remove the sim from the phone first!, then switch phone on "Insert Sim" will be displayed, connect unlock cable and use the "testmode" program first before using the jic unlocker, the phone goes into testmode and then when you use the jic unlock program it will find the phone and unlock it, this has never failed me yet so good luck guys hope this helps and p.s i do have a 6310i myself, regards to all Billyhl...

Have you unlocked software version 5.10 with this method yet? I have had no problems getting the phone in test mode, it is the unlock that is the problem. It always says "rebuilding failed". I know that there is some solution available because logosunlimited has a clip which handles the new DCT4 software including the 6310i 5.10, 7210, and 8310 5.57 When will this type of software be available here on the net?

lostblur

all phones need to be put into test mode to be unlocked, not just 6310i. if you were unable to do it before that means you were using an autoswitch data cable and JIC FREE unlockder has problems using that type of a cable for test mode.

I dont think that this is true. There are a couple of flash boxes out that can unlock version 5.10 6310i's, logosunlimited has one. At the moment there is no unlocking software available for it though. Its the same deal with the 5.57 83xx's

i ahve don all the thngs mentioned above, but nothing worked!!!
i have 8310 V5.57 and i have the switchable data cable( i can switch between Mbus and Fbus), i was able to put the phone in testmode! but every time i try to unlock it (after switching to Mbus) using JIC it give me "could not establish link to the phone !".
i have win98se. and i can do anythn by logomanager using my cable!! so this may be an endication the the problem is the version of the phone(V5.57) and not my cable!! wat do u think guys?

@ saib...
tho post before someone said - and it is true - that u can't unlock 8310 5.57 with jic....

there is no free solution for 5.57
neither for 6310i 5.10

u need dct 4 flasher for unlocking - at about 150$ the cheapest one and 1000$ the best one.

or just simply use remote unlocking if u have only one phone. is cheaper and safer

When using the JIC, it goes into test mode, but when trying to unlock, it fails. It says: Can not establish connection to phone

I have an 8310 v5.57 and I want to change the language and update to 5.80... how can I do that? I have a data cable (but I don't know if it is fbus or mbus).
Can I flash with just a serial cable and a software? Where can I find a scheme of a mbus/fbus cable? What type of sw I must have?
I read alot of this forum, but I'm a bit confused...
Thank you in advance

or in the eternal words of mickey mouse, buggered. 6310i, used jic unlocker on 6310 works fine, some smart person decided to put a restriction code on it. Jic puts the phone intop test mode, reads the imei ok, swrites the simlock and when it's done comes up with that beautiful message above, any ideas? I don't have the kit to flash it. suppose it would be worth while to buy it but I hate giving these people more of my hard earned money.

cant unlock it, sorry.
nokia change the lock approach in 8310 5.57, 8390 7.80, 6310i 5.10..

all previous version of those phones shoul dbe unlockable though

btw, if youjust need to unlock. dont but the flasher kit. just get yourself an unlock clip.

they all 'lease' a calculator.

restriction code is derived from the IMEI of the phone number, and the SP code, plugged into a function which contains a very complex algorithm, and produces the unlock code.

my impression is that there is only either one party that has this calculator, or there are only but a few people that do, and everyone else is leasing it from them, by buying 'credits' at opt, and reselling the offer to others.

BY THE WAY, you may overcome the new locking techniques, by downgrading the phones software to a previous version with a flasher kit, unlocking it with your clip, and flashing the new firmware back into it.

if you are in US and thinking of getting a flasher kit, let me know coz i'm selling my dct4 flasher kit right now.

when upgrading software in dct4's what has happened to the FAID which we saw in in the dct3 range? is it calculated by the flasher program? or the phone? or do the dct4's just not have one?

can someone tell me if the dct4 flash is encrypted? if so, is it encrypted IN the phone? or just the file which travels TO the phone BEFORE the DCT4 flash device. i.e the file between the phone and the flash dongle is unencrypted.

cheers, dave.

When you start up userport you can see the hex adress of the port(s) in your system on one of the sides (Can't remember if it's left or right.) You just highlight the ports and press the 'add' button.
After that you press 'start' in the box where it says 'Driver (Userport.SYS)'
that's it, you just close down now (no reboot required) and it'll be activated automatically each time you boot up your pc.
If you ever need to make changes to the port access you use the update button instead of the start button when the changes has been done.

1) The IMEI can't be changed. Yet. (and is illeagal) unless you have a 'hot air station' hehe!

JIC can't set test mode. Im not sure if its the phone or it just never does it.

1) Turn phone on
2) Set test mode with another program. Attached.
3) Quit the program
4) Run JIC
5) Press Unlock
6) Dont turn the phone off until JIC has finnished
7) Check unlock status with "nokiatool035". Search for this one.

Thanks M8 for your help!

Setting testmode with your program results in the same problem. Phone switches off and doesn't come back. I'm not right sure if it is the phone or the wire, causing this problem.

Ahh - one more thing. After the phone switches off for setting testmode, it doesn't come back AND I only can switch it on again, after unplugging the wire on the computer side. Unplugging on the phone will not work!

I think I will throw this phone heavily to the wall. I invested numbers of hours, but maybe the phone or just me is too stupid ;)

Some things to note (But im sure you know about these)

The phone cannot be switched off by its switch.
The battery needs to be charged. (and in the adapter thing for the 8310)
When phone is in testmode, the backlight does not come on. (Ie you've got to squint in the dark to read "Testmode") :)

Try this program to check your lead. Only the left two are needed for this type of use. (Ie MBUS and FBUS) If one of these never works then either you have a problem with your lead or your lead isn't a dual F/M autoswitching lead.

@confused_idiot
pleeeeeeease read the posts before asking question! :(
The 8310 IMEI query has been answered several times already!!

Summary 8310

With (Sim Card Registration Failed)
It's probably nothing to do with the IMEI.
Are you using a different operators sim than the one supplied when the phone was bought?
Try your mates SIM cards from different operators.
If only one type works the phone is probably locked. Get a cable or post it to me :)

From what I gather if it were reported stolen the phone would be blocked. It would not say Sim Registration Failed but you'd get three beeps.

DaveGSM82

i just recently got my Nokia 3510 unlocked the problem is i think the person who did the service didn't know what he was doing, anyway, when i got the phone back it was unlocked (accepted other sim) but there was no signal. what do you guys think is the problem? and more importantly how can i solve it?

no software as of yet to change any IMEI dct-4 phones,

Well dont put your IMEI's on either, they can get used to program older blocked phones. You should never give out your IMEI publicly.
Anyway, if you took the time to read the thread you would see there is a blokey who used to give codes out for free in replies but has since stopped, he has a website with special disount for NFREE members. Go see and stop shouting your IMEIs at a brick wall.

surprising to me that nobody mentioned...

after unlocking if you try to make a call..
it goes beep beep beep system busy.

*3370#
do this to turn on EFR (Enhanced Full Rate)
Some networks require that this be turned on before your phone will work.

No your phone is not barred.. whoever wrote that, do you know what is going on? If you own the phone and you know it was not stolen. sheesh.

=============
Also.
in this thread. Whoever said.. FBUS/MBUS. one of the modes.. if not the other. It turns out that half of the people who use JIC fine are using MBUS... and the other half who are not doing fine? FBUS.

FBUS people use Maestro's DCT4 Test Mode Activator... newest version is 0.25... also 0.20 is floating around out there too...

Run a search for Maestro Test Mode using the search button on top of this forum and you will find it.... those people who have probs with JIC and Sa1uk's activator.

(Not that there is any probs with JIC or Sa1uk... it is that some cables will not jump into Test Mode via MBUS and thus need FBUS to jump to it)..

Notice that using Maestro's test mode, the phone is turned off... but plugged into the wall charging..

And also use in Windows 98... if you use in WinXP compatibilty and it doesn't work... try going back to 98 in a dualboot..

That's all my 2cents for now. Oh yeah... I find that the people here are really technical... and really friendly ^_^ Thanks gang..

;) K~.

just to be clear......

So can the tools mentioned in this thread remove an SP Lock on a 3650 with just an mbus cable?

i have an mbus cable but don't want to have to go find a griffin or the like in order to remove my sp lock....

Alinus
