Hi,

I have a 5510 with a fault. It boots up then resets itself.I have read about the EXT UI DSP, i have got the software, modified my fbus lead, but still I cannot write to the EXT UI. It reads and starts downloading, then gives ERROR7.
I have tried this on a laptop using win98se, and an XP Server, both without any joy.
If anyone has full schematics or instructions as to rectify this, please post here.

Thanks

JAC

check this:
1.did u flash the UI with the charger plugged in
2.if your cell phone can still be powered on then flash the UI with the software while your phone is still turned on.
the soft works for me.

hi. thank u for ur answer, but i still have some questions.
im gonna reply the points u mentioned.

1. I have such a cable, i tried it with an original nokia and a usual data cable.
2. do i have to plug in the charger to flash it? i only used batteries which were almost "dead"
3. what do u mean with: "make sure ur cable data is already"?
4. power on? i think the battery is loading when the phone charger is pluged in....?!? so here i have to power on the mobile while charging?!
5. the log message in the EXT_UI flash program?
6. i would be very happy if it starts one time...

i hope u can answer these questions. ive got only ICQ, perhaps u can give me your ICQ UIN if u also use it.

thanks a lot....

1. u need a ussual switchable F/MBus Cable that has been modified (open the cable, move the position of the blue wire to the white wire and the other way around, and put the switch to FBus)
2.yes u have to plug in the charger, even if u use a good battery it's better to plug in the charger
3.i think what krowokz meant was make sure the data cable is already modified (correct me if i'm wrong)
4.yes power on the phone. the software flashes the external UI Board while the phone is turned on
5.the log message....i'm not sure, i kinda forgot about that partbut u have to select the files correctly that's for sure.
6.i used the software about 7 times and it works 6 times ;) , the 7th phone needs to have the ccont replaced first since afterwards it's fine.

good luck!

hi.
i think i modified my cable correctly, but of course the phone is only powered on for 8 seconds, so the program cannot test the phone.
id be very glad if u post some screenshots and pix from your program/cable.

if the phone only powers on for about 8 seconds then i think u will have to replace the ccont first (that's exactly what happened to the 7th 5510 i worked on which i failed to repair using the software).
about pictures and screenshots i'm sorry but i have none.my harddrive just failed a couple of weeks ago and i lost almost every single data i've collected  .maybe krowokz can post his (hopefully).

i thought that this "8-second-error" is also caused by a faulty ext_ui?!?

did u clean the test point of ur cellphone maybe its corroded....

-skunk-

why do i need the testpoint?
i only use the connection points to connect the data cable.
(or is it the same?)
