i've noticed something: if the phone asks for security code and we enter more than 5 times wrong code, the phone locks and it doesn't accept even the right code! the only way i've found is wait for about 5-10 minutes (phone on) and then try again. isn't there any faster way than this? what if i'm in a hurry?

That's a Nokia Security feature! The only way to make it faster is to not enter the wrong code! He He!

@User32

What if you're in a hurry and type in the wrong PIN code 3 times?

Let's be honest, getting a code wrong 5 times in a row is pretty difficult to manage. Just type it in slowly and you won't get it wrong.

Of course if you really didn't like it you could edit the MCU and change the counter to infinate.

But that's tricky and pointless :)

I think removing the battery for a minute or so may do the trick...

i mean being in a hurry for unlocking; not typing the password.

@ GeeZuZz
i've done it. doesn't work.

never mind... the only way i think is wait for about 5 minutes (phone turned on) and try the correct pass..

Use sw PC Locals 1.3, make full factory reset in EEPROM, it will set your S.C. to 12345

don't be ridiculous! the purpose is not losing the settings. if it is to destroy everything, what's the point??

Hmm... Thats strange. Cause without power, it shouldn't be able to remember how many failed tries you got.

Good thinking, perhaps it stores it in the Eeprom? Or some permament storage point...

If you see what I mean.

Maybe not...:)

nah, i don't think so.
the phone every time it boots up, if security is on, it checks if a new sim card has been inserted. if so, it asks for sec. code..
