Could anyone please explain to me how to work userport? It seems very complicated!!!!

Just copy userport.sys to \\windows\system32\drivers. The file comes with a readme containning instructions. Then all you have to do is run the program userport and press START. thats it!

AFTER USING THIS SOFTWARE ON WI 2000, I FORMATTED MY DRIVE AND PUT WIN ME ON IT. THEN MY PORT DOSE'NT WORK. SO I PUT WIN XP ON IT, STILL NO PORT?
IF I CHECK MY PORT FOR ERRORS, ALL SEEMS WELL?
BUT IT WONT DETECT ANY HARDWARE.
SO NO ZIP DRIVE, OR SHUTTLE.
SO NO MORE CD WRITER.
ANY ONE KNOW WHY????:confused: :confused:

I am having trouble connecting to my 8250 using Rolis Flasher 5.14.

I have to use this version because my data cable uses a COM port, not a LPT port.

I installed userport and added the COM port address, but even with it running, Flasher doesn't get past the "Wait for power ON" message.

Can anyone help please?!

IT WONT WORK...
YOULL HAVE TO BY A FLASHER CABLE. THIER ABOUT £20.
YOU CAN ONLY USE THE PARALLEL PORT.:(

The cable I have IS a F/Mbus cable, but it has a 9 pin serial connector.

The cable works with Logomanager but LM does not have Flash upgrade ability.

Knok has an option to select a COM port, but when I select the port the cable is connected to, it still doesn't recognise it.

If there is no software that works with a COM port, is there any adaptors that can convert COM to LPT?

The COM option is Knok is for the unlocking and updating of the FAID it is the same in Rolis 5.14 because he as merged his to two program in to one program

I don't think there is any port changing device because it would not contain the Dejan chip

THERES NO CHIP IN MY CABLE, ALL THE NEW FLASH CABLES HAVE THE OPTION TO USE A COMP PORT TO UNLOCK???

If you open up the part of the cable that plugins in to the LPT port I am 100% sure that you will see a chip. No, flash cables flash, serial cables are used for unlocking now
