I read somewhere that it is possible to make 40 sms memory in 3310 phone. Is it real so?? I would be more interested if you tell me how to make it not only give some flash files. There was told to do something with pclocals, but this programm can`t connect to my phone with MBUS cable and winXP... Why?

IMHO SMSes are stored on a SIM-card. If your SIM card allows
storing 40 SMSes then you haven't to use any tool.
Otherwise i dunno if there exist any software allowing
to alter SIM-cards capacity.

Some phones (i think nokia 3330 is one of them - actually, i bet it is), support an options to save a number to the SIM card or into the phone's memory.. The guys that are good in programming for the ARM processor (of course, i will not ask them to do this, they can do what they like, but i'm only good with win32asm..) could prolly rip that part out and put it to the 3310 flashes, but you'd have to reserve some memory in which to save the messages, and it could not be used by other things.. (prolly a good choice to cut the memory for the ringtones..)
So, it is possible, but i haven't seen anyone actually do it.

I understand, that i need to reserve some memory. But in what memory? PPM???Then there is no tool for this? I think that there must make new menu, tell the phone what memory use for sms, but it`s all impossible without programming knowledge...

fresh_LV: as i said, it'd prolly be the easiest way to rip (take from) it out the 3330 flash, which does have this option, and put it the code to our flash, but don't ask me how to do it.

It might be possible:
The newer phones can save many SMSs on the SIMCARD.
I think the SIM has got enough capacity, but 3310s are configured to save max 10 SMSs only.If we change something in product profile with PCLocals,it might be done!
What do you think?

The amount of SMS's you can save all depends on the capacity of the sim card!
My sim in my 3310 can save 15 messages!

Yeah I too wish it was possible to store SMS into the phone instead of the SIM on the 3310
But it sounds like a too-complex firmware hack..

I think you can do it by upgrading the memory from 16Mb to 32Mb and flashing 3330 fimware.

I `m searching for software solutions. If i must change hardware than it`s not for me. Then i better buy 3330. I think that i can get free space deleting melodies and then use this space for sms. But then i understood that sms isn`t stored in PPM... Is it real so??

I wouldn't exactly call storing 32 messages 'high memory'
I had a 32 KB SIM card before, it could store 50 messages.
Now I have a 64 KB SIM card, I haven't maxed it yet....

Well the software upgrade only enables the 3310 to utilize the SIM card better, old software versions only supported a low number of messages even though the SIM card supported more.
