nokia 8310 help!

Hi, I have a nokia 8310 currently on t-mobile network. I have also used this phone on vodaphone which would make me think its unlocked although when I try 2 different o2 sims in the phone I get the message "sim registration failed". Is it possible that the phone could be unlocked to certain networks but not others? Should I try unlocking it again?

the phone is blocked by the sound of it

can you still make calls from your sim card?

on t-mobile and vodaphone it is still possable to send and recieve text messages on a blocked phone but you cant make calls

but on o2 and orange you cant do anything

for some odd reason this is how they work
